The more i see the reverse Jag, the more I'm driven to play one. I seriously doubt that they will be in my area anytime soon. Question arose as to where the bass was manufactured. Why is it always such a secret? It can't be a MIA for the price. MIM? MIJ?

Kinda sort of Fender-meets-Gibson-'n'-Music Man! 8) Truly a nice blend from three distinctive instruments: reverse Gibson Firebird body, Fender Precision Bass neck with reverse headstock and two Music Man humbucking pickups with AlNiCo polepieces.

I think the late John Entwistle would be very proud to pick that reverse Jagbass with Music Man humbucking pickups. Unfortunately he's not anymore with us.

Let me just post my thumbs up for these guitars .The Jaguarillo looks great and like others have said its more viable alternative to a CP Jaguar .i assume the Offset special is long (standard Fender ) scale which is a pity for me as I am rapidly loving shortscale .Anyway all great stuff and I never settle on what is traditional or what isnt .A guitar is a guitar to me and always viewed in isolation to any other .

It's always puzzled me as to why, they never advertised country of origin.

In most cases of really anything manufactured, the most likelyhood of advertising a country of origin of manufacture is when something is made in USA. Manufacturing outside of America is nothing they really want you to know until it's too late (such as when the "Made in PRC" tag falls out of something you just bought).

Pretty Sure the current ones are made in Japan... I got this off of Fender's Product Dating Website

Japanese Instruments Product Dating
[...]
Note: A new Japanese vendor was enlisted in 2010 to help meet demand for the Geddy Lee and Marcus Miller Jazz Bass models. These two basses and the other instruments listed below that were supplied by this factory continued to use “Made in Japan T + 6 digits” designation through 2011:

Pawn Shop Fender ‘51
Pawn Shop Fender ‘72
Pawn Shop Mustang Special
‘70s Precision Bass
Jaguar Bass

Why not a Chinese Pawnshop guitar or bass? Fender did their Modern Players in China...

I really hope they keep them MIJ... I always wanted a Japanese Fender and now's my chance to.

I'm really liking that they are offering the Mustang Special in the burst (we had one come into the shop and I was in love), and the offset looks really interesting... I would love to give one for a spin.

The Reverse Jaguar Bass (reverse Fenderbird) is undoubtedly the first Fender bass to use dual Music Man humbuckers! :P

Fairly sure they'll be Fender Humbuckers....they're quoted in the specs as "Reverse Jaguar Humbucking" and "Big Block Humbucking" pickups...nothing about Music Man...

Personally, I think Fender hit a homerun with the Jaguarillo -- its the Jaguar for us Strat guys.

Now, if Fender could follow it up with an SSS version Jaguarillo with the following, I think they'd have a real hit with the surf guitar guys:

-- SSS configuration with vintage Strat pickups (57/62's would be a great choice)
-- Aqua flake with pearloid pickguard and/or tangerine flake color with tortoise shell
pickguard

Fender just did a limited run of Telecasters in those two flake finishes but I think those colors on a vintage-sounding Jaguarillo would really appeal to the surf guitar crowd...

The design clearly echoed the StingRay's huge humbucking pickup.

That Reverse Jaguar Bass really caught my attention, as well. It had to slightly grow on me at first, though. The more I looked at it, the more I liked it. I really like the whole concept of the Pawn Shop series. It's cool to have something different than the usual (though great) models. I hope Fender comes out with some more bass models, too.

One thing I have noticed lately is that Fender has been putting humbuckers on everything lately. A lot of the new models that have come out (Modern Player, Blacktop, etc.) seem to have them. I wonder why that is? Change of pace?

Wow, Really like the Bass!!!

I'd like to try one but I can't find a dealer here in Charlotte, NC area with one yet. With that body it my be hard to reach low register.

I'd have to sell something to get one, don't know if I want to part with my Jass Bass.

Great Job :D
