THIS SUMMER!!!

I can't wait. I found out that The Casualties have a gig at this hole in the wall club about 30 minutes away from me in July. I'm definitely going. I saw The Misfits there twice, and it was amazing. I am so pumped for this one especially, considering I've loved this band since I was 8 years old.

The second band I'm most likely seeing this summer is Iron Maiden. My friend invited me to Jiffy Lube Live and they're scheduled to play there. I've wanted to see them for a long while as well.

This summer is going to be amazing. I can't wait.

Also, if any VA forumers want to do a meet up, I can probs pull it off.

Nice! I got tickets yesterday to see a few of my heroes.

Allen City Blues Festival...2nd row center...

Robert Cray, Jimmie Vaughan, Robert Randolph!

then later this year front row center for Bonamassa twice!

enjoy yourself!

Nice!

I was supposed to see Melvins in NY on Sunday, it was all set with the band, they just had to clear it with the club. Well, apparently there's some state law rearding age restricted shows, so it was a no-go. :(

That said, I'm probably seeing St. Vincent on Thursday, can't wait for that. 8)

I get into age restricted shows by having my mom come in with me and then leaving. Or, if it's that hole in the wall club, security is pretty lax, so they let me do as I please.

My parents wont go along with that. There are alot of bands i wouldv'e gone to see if it weren't for age restrictions, like sea sick steve, mudhoney, off!. And there are lots of bands that play reguarly at melbourne pubs/hotels that i'd #$@*&!% love to see.

Stupid over 18 laws

I guess your parents weren't rockers like mine were.

Concert dreams are a great thing, especially when they come true. :P

I remember seeing Primus open for the Red Hot Chili Peppers on the Mothers Milk tour which was an incredible pairing for me at the time. Also Metallica opening up for Ozzy on the Master of Puppets tour was like a dream had come true.

Nothing compares to my first concert though, which was KISS on the Dynasty tour with the original line up. They were past their prime already by Dynasty, but they played the songs I knew from ALIVE! and ALIVE II, plus I was only 7 at the time so it shaped my idea of a concert forever.

Lovely! I think my mom saw Metallica on the Master of Puppets tour as well. She got a drumstick from Lars, and that was given to me recently.

I would have gotten in fine if it weren't a state law. I was on the band's guest list and everything, but the club wouldn't budge on the age restriction.

St. Vincent was f***in AWESOME. LOVE her voice, and she may be my new favorite guitarist.

Also, she likes Big Black and Lightning Bolt and she's definitely a cutie.... I think I'm in love..

Ahh, I live in VA. I don't know what the laws are, but I certainly don't care enough to look them up. I shouldn't be worried when I go to a concert. It's music, and there shouldn't be any laws on seeing it live. It's about the experience, not how intoxicated you can get, plus the intoxication is for after the show :P

Very cool James, if at all possible, pic's, videos, autographs or let us know about your experience. I saw Iron Maiden in 1988, an excellent show IMHO. 8)
