Pair of Levi's 501 jeans.

I bought a pair on the cheap and am never looking back. They're simply amazing. :D

I prefer 510s. I'm small enough that anything of a bigger fit than "super skinny" (what they label 510s as) ISN'T skinny at all. Slim fits look baggy on me

lool, "matchsticks" are what they're called over here. I've got a pair of 501s, 505s, 511s, and 550s. I spent less than $100 on all of these. I only got them because almost every other pair of jeans I had had been repaired so many times that there was nothing left.

I've still got a few other pairs of jeans, like skin tight ones, shredded and broken ones and some other ones. but these are good. I just had to update the wardrobe a bit.

Update to your wardrobe? No man, that's retro... 8)

I wore 501's in the 80's, my dad wore them in the 50's (although they weren't publicly called 501's in the 50's...they were just called "Levi's")...

Nowadays, it's all 505's or 517's for me...although there's still a pair of 501's lurking in the back of the closet, waiting for me to go on a hunger strike to fit back in them. :P

Button fly 501's is what I wore in high school/college. Funny, I was a 36-36 then, now I'm like 30-35. I think I'm shrinking.

These don't have the newer style buttons or the "Levi's.com" ad on a separate tag. They might be older than I thought. Anyways, much better than my older jeans, simply because they aren't falling apart.

I've always prefered Wranglers to Levis,to me they have them beat in fit, comfort and the colour they turn when they fade, plus Levis has been identified as another powerfully rich company that makes obscene profits off the backs of sweatshop workers.I could never be able to justify spending $50-$75 for a pair of jeans when a worker who spends 12-16 hours a day making them only gets the equivilant of $5 if they are lucky.Wrangler has a clean employee record yet I can but a pair of them for less than $25.

I thrifted 3 pairs for $12 each. None have any holes, or really much fraying.

Ethically, I can't really take a stand, considering I have no power over the corporation, so it would be useless.

Buxom-we all have the power of our voices,if enough people emailed these companies and voiced their disgust over their unfair labour practices and maybe even said that they refused to buy their products until they treated their employees fairly, these companies may take heed.I'm sure that if Wrangler can sell their jeans for less than $25 and still make a profit then Levis would most certainly be able to clean up with profits with the prices their jeans are sold for.I'm always emailing companies do offensive things and most write back thanking me for my input stating that they value feedback whether positive or negative.

I do agree that they should clean things up, or quit outsourcing. Also, lower the price. I've never payed full price for a pair of them. I've either gotten them second hand, or from a discount department store. I don't think I've payed over $30 for a pair of jeans ever.

When I started wearing Levi's 501s and cords, they were $6.50 a pair. That was considered expensive back then, because pants were around $3 a pair. Today 501s are going for close to $50 a pair. They were made in San Francisco back then. Today they are made in 3rd world sweat shops. I've seen them being made in various South American countries with unstable governments and such. I still love them and wear them. I wish they would bring them back to the USA and, drop the price to $20 a pair. When this occurs, our country will be on the right track again! Like many, I take my Levis very seriously!

I'm in the need to lose a couple of lbs camp to get into my older Levi's, last pair I bought was a few year ago a couple of sizes up 501's, went into the Levi store just a few months ago tried a couple of pair on ( no price tag, Mmmm) went to the counter and said I'll have these two how much....she threw a right, a left. rabbit punched the back of my neck and an upercut right on the chin..over a £100 for one pair can't remember exactly, the look on my face must have said it all cause she asked how much I was willing to pay, I said I think we're just so far apart and walked out..levi's nowadays are Booteek doncha know
BTW Buxom seen a prog where someone found some old Levis ( red stitching and Block capial letter Levi tag), worth quite a bit
