I have been GASing for a Les Paul for awhile now and just couldn't figure out which I liked. I am not a fancy Les Paul kind of guy, so no Customs, looked at the 60s tribute, but I didn't like the feel for some reason and the P90s were so so...which kind of suprised me (maybe a bad one)...tried out a Les Paul Standard, kind of heavy!...thought about a Les Paul Classic, but for some reason, they are hard to find around my area used, so when this came along, I thought why not give it a try...glad I did, Nice and light, the Burstbuckers have a nice tone, it is a 2007 so nice rosewood fretboard, no "Baked Maple", and the neck is not too big, not too small...just right, and the hard shell case was a nice bonus, no bag on this one....So I guess I have babbled on long enough...here is the guitar porn

I was looking at that very same guitar, same color and everything, at the local GC not 45 minutes ago! I took it down and played it and liked it a lot, but decided that $999 new was a little more than I wanted to pay. Very nice guitar and you cannot beat those BurstBuckers, no way!

That's definitely schweet, T2! Though I think the title of this thread should be:

NGD...Gas Relieved... for now!

CRGM...When I wrote this...I actually put ..."for now" :!: :!: ...then erased it :!: My gas has been relieved until I come across a nice natural colored 70s strat/70's reissue or a natural colored Explorer! Thanks, got this one in trade +$500 cash for my SFSR...didn't need it after I got the 65 BFSR, and made a good $350 on the deal over what I had into it.

TBZ...Yeah does kind of remind me of The Paul...but sounds way better...and no volute, big headstock, or the flat top! And yes it sure makes the BFSR growl :!:

Very nice--love the grain on that body! Congratulations!

...and with the white interior of the case, it looks like it's floating down from heaven for you!

I was looking for a faded Studio a couple of months ago. I spent a lot of time watching Ebay for that same guitar. Then I started hearing about the '12 Standard and decided to wait. I'm hoping to be picking up a '12 Honeyburst Standard for Fathers day. That's a nice LP and sounds like a good deal too. That's the problem with the Standard, I'm won't be getting any great deal if I want one, and I want one.

She's a looker for sure. I bet she's a player to. Love that natural dark Mahogany finish. In your openion do those Burstbuckers actually add a little something or what? My LP Traditional has the 57 Humbuckers & I think they sound about the same. 8)

Danny...Thanks, yeah I like the look and the grain pattern on the top is a bonus! And yeah the Burstbuckers sound great...I think they have just a bit more high end sizzle than the '57 HB's in my '61 SG Reissue...IMO...but that could be due to the extra mass or maybe the openess of the finish? I am digging it for sure.
