Hello I've aquired a Fender Catalog 1954. How can I tell if it's a repro?

Hard to know for sure without an expert opinion.

I've heard that the only way to be 100% sure that something is authentic is if your getting it from someone who doesn't have a clue what it is.

I'm still looking for that old $20 guitar at the garage sale that turns out to be a genuine 1950 Broadcaster. No luck yet.

Wow! I just found a $20 guitar at a garage sale that turned out to be a 70s vintage Lotus Strat in Dakota Red! Not a Broadcaster, but well worth the $20.
