Drummer and producer Billy Bryans has passed away from the big C. Anyone who has lived around the Toronto area of Canada will be aware of his work as a drummer and founder of Parachute Club and producer of such acts as The Downchild Blues Band. Billy was also very influential in promoting "World" music throughout Quebec and Ontario.... He will be missed.....play on brother

I have never heard of him, but I'm certainly familiar with some of his work. RIP!

The Parachute Club certainly didn't last long in the public eye,for a while in the 80s they were the toast of the Canadian music scene but as fast as they appeared on the scene they vanished faster.The Downchild Blues Band has been popular for many years and was cofounded by Willie McCaudle of Willie and the Walkers who had a big hit in the 60s with the beautiful Beatlesque "Diamonds and Gold".Willie sometimes has reunion concerts with other original band members.
