I think that sounds killer...I wouldn't change a thing.

One thing we as guitarists forget is how the tone of our particular guitar parts--rhythm, lead, harmony, whatever--fits in the song. We have the ideas of the "perfect" tone for a guitar part, but sometimes that "perfect" tone doesn't fit within the song after mixdown.

What you just recorded would be a great rhythm line to a song--you'd be able to put a fatter (or cleaner or wah-infected or...) lead line over it with ease...or a funky slide part...or a rippin' harmonica lead...

That's a great "in the pocket" rhythm line. Flesh it out and overdub some lead instruments over it, and you may be on to something.

Perfect examples of how something can sound weird (or downright bad) by itself, but sound great in the mix:

-or-

Just leave the track as-is and finish the song.

You're on to something good. As others have said, leave this be and add on to it. Nice work.

I loved it. I liked the almost crumbling rhythm with the elements of blues breaking through. I loved the drum beat, would almost work well with surf. (And I say almost because I can't really envision it, I'd have to hear it.) The one thing I'd tone down is the bass. I could pick the guitar and bass parts apart too easily. That's just my personal taste, but I really love it when they blend really well. If you did a whole album like this, I'd buy one.
