hi , i was down at the rehersal studio this afternoon rocking out some rory tunes and the owner asked me if i wanted a brocken Peavey amp , yes i said , turns out it's an old stereo chorus212 with the teal stripe , someone was in with a band and it packed in and he told john to skip it , luckily for me it had a 4 way footswitch 8) been looking for one for a while , anyhow , i get it home and plug it in using one of my power cables and it fires up  but just about every pot was crackly , so gave them a clean and hoovered out the board (covered in sawdust ) and plugged it and and away it went without a bit of bother 8) unfortunatley i don't have the room for it so it'll be going to someone who can use it , just thought i'd share , cheers
Alan

i love it when you stumble upon a good deal. ive got a fender deluxe 112 plus, but i got it secondhand and never got the 2 switch pedal to change channel and turn the reverb on. ive had the amp for over 10 years, and yesterday i stumbled upon the right footswitch on ebay with 20 minutes left on the auction. never seen one for sale before. 8 quid later and ive got the pedal to match my amp. i dont even need it as i dont use the gain channel on the amp, but i had to have it just because.

like you, i was also given a little '70's practice amp for free because it didnt work. only needed one new chip on the board and it was working perfectly. cost pennies.

That was a great find Alan, free is my favourite price to pay for anything. Those Stereo Chorus Peaveys were great amps in their day and I still would use one for gigging in a heartbeat.I wish that some dealer would lay a cool old amp like that on me.

hi guys , it worked out well for me , i got a footswitch  my tech mate is on the case converting it to work with the mace , which will be well handy for me 8) the amp itself is one of the teal stripe models with the stereo chorus and digital reverb , and i have to say some of the settings and sounds from the verb sound amazing as does the stereo chorus , if i had the room i would keep this , it would be ideal for recording into my yamaha md8 (mini disc 8 track )desk which i haven't used in ages (need to get a mic  ) in fact i'm kind of hoping it won't need to go , i just need somewhere to store it out of the way in the house , the living room has a jcm800 halfstack and a peavey mace , the bedroom has guitars and cases , an old roost 2x12 and an epi valve junior , can you see my problem  if only my daughter would move into her own house :D i'de have a man cave  , buxom , if you want to drop by and pick it up you'r welcome to it mate 8) 120 watts of stereo ear splitting goodness
and guitslinger your right , a great sounding amp , for a S/S , i had one of my strats plugged in last night and was messing with the settings , i was getting an 80's heavy metal tone from a strat , with single coils , i was impressed 8) , not that i do heavy metal mind  , i'll get a pic up tomorow guys , cheers
Alan

How much do you think shipping would be. I've got about $500 cash on me now.
