i'd have to go with music

Music, as long as I had a player.

You could make music by banging a couple of shells together. To hear what made me want to make music though, that's irreplaceable.

The music of your life is already stored in you. On a remote island all those songs would soon become irrelevant as you come to terms with your new environment, physically and artistically.
Would you take some old paintings? or enough paint, canvas and supplies for the rest of your life?
Bangin' two shells together just doesn't do it for me as far as musical expression goes
Gotta choose guitar !

I'll take my music collection since instruments are all around you, with Pamela Anderson as a groupie, and Justin Bieber to punch in case Pamela distracts me and I miss a note! I hate that kid.

This is probably the most thought provoking topic I've ever seen on the forum and I have to say that you really have me stumped on this one Riley. This will take some heavy and serious pondering as each one is such a huge part of my life.I don't kow how I could get by without ever being able to listen to Mozart's Violin Concerto No. 3 again, then again I can't see myself being deprived of a guitar for more than 12 hours.Decisions-decisions, I'll have to get back to you on this one for sure.

Neither. A large collection of beautiful women would surely serve me best. They can make the "music" while I play their "guitars".

As always, this is merely IMO where I truly hope your mileage does NOT vary. :D :D :D

Has to be a guitar - acoustic obviously. My Classical will do for me unless I find a Michael Gee concert guitar floating past my island one day..

And 250 packs of strings of course..

The music in my CD & album collection has already been made - I just listen to it now and then. But with my own guitar, I could make a lifetime of new music, free of any other distaction.

And if Man Friday's younger sister turned up occasionally armed with suitable transcription skills and a good sharp pencil, then the new music could maybe outlive me..

If I was stuck on an island with a power source. Equipment that would not fail, endless strings for restringimg. Ect, Ect, Ect. I would choose my guitar. I am good enough I can play the tunes in my head.

If I really was stuck on an island I would rather have the company of another person. A female would be preferable as we might be able to pass the time other ways besides talking. At a minimum, just someone else to be able to talk to.

This is the best possible answer Riley:

If not, a guitar, or, like Niki said, if you have some thing to play your music on perhaps music.

Depending on the resources available to me I would take my music collection, because I think that given that I have the rest of my life to do it, I think I could make a reasonable facsimile of a guitar.
Wayne Coyne's guitar has an ipod cellotaped to it, would that be allowed?
