Buddy Miles of the Electric Flag and Band of Gypys was another singing drummer,he wrote and sang "Changes" on the first Band of Gypsys album.

Took the thought right out of my head... he also did the scatting in "You Know". I think Band of Gypsys only had one album, unless there was a bootleg or two somewhere along the line.
Adrian Belew, Todd Rundgren, Chester Thompson, Jimmy Carl Black, Bill Bruford was known to give a yell every now and then, but I don't think you could consider it "singing" :shock:

Yup... I remember that tune. Triumph used to open with it at their shows back in the day. When I saw them in '85 in Buffalo, NY they opened with it. Holy $*%& - that's all I gotta say! :shock: 8)

FLASHBACK TO THE SPRING OF 1985
Buffalo Sabres NHL hockey arena's lights darken
{Announcer and/or MC} "Buffalo! Please welcome a great band from across the lake... TRIUMPH!!"
{Thunderous applause, cheers, etc...}

Then every single light in the whole arena goes out. Seriously... I mean, like, you can't even see your hand in front of your face! :?

{Snare drum does a drum roll}
KA-BOOM!!! :shock:
The lights come on, the stage explodes with massive flash pots, pyrotechnics, and other smoke bombs! :shock:

Rik Emmett and Mike Levine jump through the pyrotechnics and run out to the front of the stage, and start jamming. Gil Moore lays down the drum beat, takes the lead vocal and starts singing, "Spotlights... House lights burning to queue..."

You sit there trying to regain composure, trying not to have a heart attack, after the incredible, explosive {pardon the pun} opening of the show! :lol: 8)

Here's an earlier version of it (minus all the pyrotechnics, and with Rik Emmett doing an acoustic slide intro):

What an awesome band... For 3 guys, they put on a hell of show and rocked Buffalo's "Aud" to its foundation back then! Nowadays, The Aud is closed down and I think it's already been demolished. The Buffalo Sabres NHL hockey team has a whole new HSBC Arena (with rock concerts now held there too).

Doyle Bramhall I (or Senior, if you prefer).

Great drummer, singer, songwriter and all around nice guy...plus Lady Armadillo thought he was handsome (yet another man she finds attractive who doesn't look a single bit like me :?).

He was one of our favs in concert, and we both were extremely bummed out when he died.

Kim Berly of the old Canadian band the Stampeders sang some of their songs--actually all three main members sang.

They all take some vocals on this one-although you don't see Kim sing until near the end, he is singing earlier--you can tell when the other members aren't singing.

He was not a lead singer until Nirvana broke up, but what about Dave Grohl? I always thought he was an amazing drummer who sang great brackground. I never woulda thought he could front his own band like does now with Foo Fighters like he does now. What a talent...

Also ... how about the guy from Night Ranger? I think he sang about half the lead vocals (Jack Blades sang the other half).

Dave Cark of The Dave Clark Five

Karen Carpenter

Not very hip, but both very successful.
