Yes RIP Bert. His "Play In A Day" was the first guitar book i ever had and i started with that as did nearly everyone else. A great player and educator.

R.I.P. Bert
but on a face to face discussion with Mark Knopfler he recognized there was no way to
"Play In A Day" guitar.
And he was the first to play "Apache" although The Shadows version with Hank Marvin has been overwhelming.

Yes RIP Bert, for some odd reason when i was young i thought he was American.
91 years young.

Mind you i also thought squirrels, badgers weasels etc were about 4 foot tall, that Tufty club was very confusing!

Bert Weedon (right) with Jim Marshall, both of whom we've lost this month.

No idea who the fella on the left is: just some hanger-on, I expect.

RIP.

Cheers - C

When I was at the Musik Messa in Frankfurt one year ('95 I think), both Bert and Jim Marshall were signing posters, and I got one of each...didn't who Bert was at the time (yeah dumb american), but after that started doing some research and he was a fine guitar player. He was a real nice guy and seemed to enjoy the crowd.

RIP Mr. Weedon.
