I heard on the radio today that Frank Marino is coming to town, that's great as he is one of the few people that I'd actually pay to see these days.Marino used to be mostly Hendrix oriented and did a lot of great Hendrix covers but the past few years he has been relying more on his own compositions that are pretty well guitar symphonies. One of his first songs of this type was World Anthem which actually did sound like an anthem.Anyway I'll be getting tickets to see him for sure.

Yep,That's the guy-the one and only.Only he and Randy Hanson are the only ones who could play spot on covers of Jimi's .Even though people say that Robin Trower plays like Hendrix,he merely plays in the style of Jimi and incorporates a lot of Jimi's riffs in his music but only Hanson and Marino can can get the songs down pat.

Uli Jon Roth does a pretty darn good job on Hendrix numbers.

That's great that you'll get to see Frank. Do you know if this tour will take him south of the border?

@ Orville Owner:They haven't mentioned any other tour info but I would imagine he would be playing some U.S. dates-especially in places in close proximity of the border.I can't wait to see him.My brother in law's brother works in the security detail of the stadium and I was hoping that he could somehow wrangle getting one of my Strats autographed by him and that would be my lefty upside down Strat of course, where I'm such a huge Hendrix freak too.

I guess that info is a quick google away from me.

Frank sounded pretty good on his last tour.

Have you ever checked out Uli Jon Roth?

So I googled Frank Marino tour dates.

At first glance, it seems that Frank is taking up residency in Las Vegas ... but I'm thinking that may be "Frank Marino" the female impersonator. It's probably a good show, but don't expect to hear "The Answer" or "Voodoo Child" !!!

I have seen Randy Hansen a few times ... Randy is really not very good, IMO. Marino is a very good guitar player, but I am not a big fan of his music ... too busy and questionable vocals. I love Robin Trower ... Trower is awesome.
