I'm not fan of Ebay, but sometimes it's a necessary evil. It's certainly a way to reach collectors or devotees of instruments.

Perhaps a speculative advert on there with a high reserve, would at least smoke out some interest, and give you an idea if anyone out there is looking for a Hofner like yours and how much they would be prepared to pay..

put it on there with a massive reserve, it will get bid up to its value with no worry of it going for less than you want. from there you can either keep it, re-list it, or just offer it to the highest bidder through a private message, which will avoid ebay fees
