Man ...I could no more list all the concerts I've been to than I could name all the women I've slept with
The first concert I went to was Yes - Tales from the Topographic Ocean in 1974
Followed that year by Edgar Winter/Rick Derringer/Bad Company(first tour)
David Bowie- Diamond Dogs
BOC/Pretty Things
Genesis w/ Peter Gabriel - Lamb Lies Down on Broadway
Lou Reed - Berlin
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
The Who( with Keith Moon) - Who by Numbers, Anaheim Stadium.

The first band I ever worked for was Mick Ronson and Ian Hunter when they were rehearsing for their "Just Another Night" live album, and I ran monitors at rehearsals and rolled joints for them for three weeks. Got to spend a day onstage swapping keyboard samples with Martin Gore from Depeche Mode.

I've seen NIN at a dive bar in Tijuana before they were famous- INXS, Jane's Addiction and Red Hot Chili Peppers at a dive bar in San Diego before anyone had heard of them.

I saw every Bowie tour from Diamond Dogs to Scary Monsters, and then caught him again for the Heathens tour. I saw him playing keyboards for Iggy Pop on the Idiot tour

Peter Gabriel - 6 times . NIN 8 times. Saw Ministry in a small club and it was the loudest thing I ever heard. Saw REM open for Gang of Four in 1979.

In the eighties, I saw just about every cool synthpop and alternative band that played a show. U2, X, Devo, The Cure, Souxsie, Ultravox, Oingo Boingo, XTC, Elvis Costello, Joe Jackson, Love and Rockets, Bauhaus, Shriekback, Jesus and Mary Chain, Nick Cave, dozens more..

Saw the Police on their first tour and four other times. Got to look up Tina Weymoth's dress at the Backdoor in San Diego on the " More Songs about Buildings and Food " Tour. FYI, she was wearing floral print panties.

Chillout bands like Massive Attack, Thievery Corp, Zero Seven and Bjork, and Industrial bands Like Ministry, Front 242, Thrill Kill Kult and KMFDM

The Beastie Boys, and Public Enemy

The Plasmatics, Nina Hagen and Grace Jones. Talk about some crazy chicks...

I've seen Eric, Jeff and Carlos on the same show. Robin Trower, Alvin Lee, Johnny Winter, ZZ Top, Rory Gallagher, Joe Satriani, David Torn, Ted Nugent, King Crimson, ELP, Jethro Tull, Peter Frampton, Ry Cooder, The Blasters, Los Lobos, Rage against The Machine...I've seen Adrian Belew play for Zappa, King Crimson, Laurie Anderson, Talking Heads, David Bowie, and solo.

The first band I ever walked out on was Aerosmith - Ted Nugent and Blue Oyster Cult opened for them, and they just couldn't compete.

I saw Frank Zappa and Bob Marley within a year before they passed. RIP.

In the last year I've seen Ladytron, The Cure, Love and Rockets, Beck, Spoon, Mgmt, The newno2, Dead Confederate, Leonard Cohen, Cage the Elephant, Black Keys, Franz Ferdinand and Paul McCartney.

My top 5?
Bowie - Diamond Dogs
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon
Gang of Four - 1979
NIN at Iguanas in TJ.
Peter Gabriel - Real World tour

The one show I most regret missing was Zeppelin for Physical Graffitti - I had tickets, then I sold them...what was I thinking?

Good Times...Good Times

My first gig was Queen, back in 1977. I've seen more live bands, than I've had hot dinners. Saw some great shows, also saw some dire stuff too. This year I'm going to see Counting Crows, Steely Dan, AC/DC, and Bruce Springsteen.

"The one show I most regret missing was Zeppelin for Physical Graffitti - I had tickets, then I sold them...what was I thinking?"

You're gonna hate this - I fell asleep during their Knebworth show in 79. Too much of the you know what beforehand, but did get to see The X-pensive Winos (Keef and Ronnie's band) from the front row beforehand ..

Other good moments -

The Clash at the Venue, London (1980?)
The Stones x many
Bowie, esp Serious Moonlight tour
Dylan, esp at Brixton Academy (1996?)
Chuck Berry (very funny)
The Specials (superb)
Dr Feelgood, seemed to see them every coupkla months in 74 - 75
Genesis!
Frank Zappa!
Wishbone Ash!
Rory Gallagher!! (I can hardly believe these!)
Paul Weller last month was good

Could go on and on, even seen some contemporary stuff!

But best of all: Ian Dury and the Blockheads, reunion tour, (1999 0r 2000?) - absolutely the greatest band and a fantastic frontman, may he rest in peace.

In my younger days I went to many concerts but today I cannot afford $100+ bucks a crack for concerts (family and mortgage and what-not).
