guys say you won a guitar the same time you ordered one but then happened to come across a fender duo sonic from 1993 in fiesta red in poor state but repairable how much would you pay for it?

when i mean poor state i'm talkin no pickguard and a floyd rose locking nut without the locks... i think i could fix the nut... i'm thiking of trading in my seymour duncan jb with a strat hss pickguard and tremplate in black but the seller wants a whole guitar or 140 euros... would the jb be worth it?

EDIT: click here for pics of the guitar

Giving up your loaded pickguard (or a functional guitar), having to replace the Duo Sonic's pickguard, entire electronics and undoing the Floyd locking nut mess will cause you to rack up quite an expense from start to finish of which, you certainly would never break even if you ever tried to sell it. Don't forget, it is what it is, a RI of a student model. This, coupled by the fact that you'll have so many aftermarket components/fixes, rendering this particular instrument to NEVER be collectible or even desirable, especially when there are so many intact, original RIs floating around. I'd pass.

As always, this is merely IMO where YMMV.

Unless you could get it for $100 or less, I have a feeling you would probably spend more than the guitar is worth to fix it.

I agree. Unless you are looking for a project guitar, I would pass on this as well. Too much time and money you would have to invest that you may not ever recoup.
