Has anyone got one? Any thoughts on em and if any particular versions are any use.

Its the battery powered side im thinking of, they retail very cheap usually less than £30.

I sometimes practice with this "Smokey" amp made by Zinky. They're great, about the cheapest amp around. They give nice distortion when cranked up. I get about 10 hours out of a battery.

unfortunately i broke the battery connection, but i just run it off the mains. sounds nice, and goes quite loud. and its a fender. i actually swapped it with an old friend for a marshall stack the same size, as he has a real marshall stack, and i have a fender amp that looks like my mini one, though not a twin.

I have a couple of these micro-mini amps-the Vox Amplug with the optional 1 X 2" speaker cabinet and the Marshall MS-4 2 X 2" speakers. Both of these little amps are great for little at the beach or campfire jams and have decent overdrive tones but it's hard to get a real clean tone unless you turn them way down. Both amps can be used with headphones but the Amplug is mose versatile as it comes in several configurations plus you can plug it directly into your guitar for private listening without having to use the external speaker cabinet.I paid about $55 for the Marshall and about $75 for the Amplug and speaker cabinet, they are certainly well worth it considering the fun factor and portability of them.

I have an old 3 watt Pignose and a 1 watt radio shack kit micro amp I built and believe it or not I drive my two Egnater 112 cabs and it actually sounds pretty cool.

I got one just like it! I too have ran it through the wall current, but I prefer the nine volt battery! When the battery starts to get low you get sag from it! Made in Korea and it's a blackface LOL! I've had mine since 1997! I haven't seen it around the stores anymore. I love how you can get distortion out of them with the combination of gain and tone. It truly does sound killer for being a novelty amp!

I have a Line6 Micro Spider :

Great size for travels and the occasional porch jammin' and also
works decently as a POD for recording.

I have the Fender Mini Tone Master...about $30 for messing about in the yard or when I need headphones.

The Roland micro-cubes have some popularity...about $100 new but often seen for less used at GC.
