I tried out a used Vox Lil' Night Train, from the used gear section at GC and Wow! This is one of the perfect low-watt bedroom amps! I can't wait to pick it up on 4-23! I came in to check it out, because I had spotted it before. When I did not see it, I asked a tech in the store if they had sold it and he said, "No it's over there with the used gear." I plugged it in the listening high-end gear room. Playing it through a nice Standard SG it sounded great. Just to make sure it was not a dream; I grabbed a cheap $100 Strat and plugged it in and whammo! It still sounded great! Crunch, chime, sparkle, punch and definition all in a two watt amp! I bet this is what the old Champ 4 and 5 watters of old were like. No, put it this way, maybe they were not even as good as this! I like the Marshall Class5 but this head and the 16 ohm cab I got with it, blow the Marshall out of the water, at least with the combo. I have not tried the Head version of the Class5 yet. I'm almost afraid to, for the sake of my wallet! My computer is in the shop right now, I caught a virus loading junk plug ins from that stupid Audicity garbage, Please beware! I don't want no one to suffer the mess I'm going through right now. I'm inputting this from my local library!
