Bonnie Raitt's new album 'Slipstream' was released today and it's a good 'em. She covers Gerry Rafferty's "Right Down the Line," with a reggae beat that works, but also brings out the 'love' in the song http://youtu.be/-T_aMNbXVdA.

I talked to Bonnie about five years ago on the phone. My brother Larry lives in West Hollywood, and went to the local 'Starbucks', there in a corner booth sat Bonnie. He went over to her and told her he was big fan, and that I was too, and that I was a bluesman.

She was going on tour soon and wanted to know about the music scene around Columbus, OH, so he called me on his cellphone to talk to her. Fortunately I was home, cellphones weren't like they are today, and I talked to her. That was soooo cool!

Thanks for posting the video and especially the heads-up on the new album. I'm a big Bonnie Raitt fan and it looks like there will be a slight alteration of this month's cash flow situation.

I saw Bonnie in concert years and years ago here in San Diego. An unknown Jeff Healey opened for her. A good night for music!
