Not been to many gigs, but I'd say my #1 was when John Butler came to Glasgow.

I challenge anyone to listen to this (pity the sound quality ain't great) and NOT be moved! Its absolutely incredible, and I cannot describe the feeling it produced hearing it live, nor the sound of the entire crowd going wild at the end! Such a great gig!

Roger Waters or the Who, both concerts where last year
Roger Waters for the show and sound, the Who for the energy and festival spirit in the crowd

Steely Dan, Deer Creek Music Park, Indianapolis, summer of 1993. Otherworldly performance and audio mixing: Peter Erskine on drums, Warren Bernhardt on piano, the incandescent Drew Zingg on guitar, audio directed by Roger Nichols himself. An experience so far beyond an ordinary concert that it's almost indescribable.

The man , SRV at Red Rocks, most memorable moment. He had about 150 foot cable and walked into the crowd playing - SO VERY COOL. 8)

Eric Clapton especially when he brought Jimmie Vaughan on with him.

And then a band that my band played with called Settings put on a really great show.

The Ventures, small venue (maybe 200 attendants) in Chicago, about 82, when Nokie Edwards re-joined. He was doing a custom Tele. Bob Bogle was on Jazz Bass and Don Wilson on Jazzmaster.

In-freaking-credible.

2nd best, Marty Robbins, venue about 300, also Chicago

The best all around SHOW that I've been to has got to be Pink Floyd, "Delicate Sound of Thunder" tour in the summer of '88 at the Cleveland Coliseum in Ohio. The music, effects, everything... just incredible.

If I were to pick based only on the merits of the music only... Peter Frampton played a small venue concert in St Petersburg, FL at Jannus Landing a few years back that was just incredible. He sounded as great as he did when I saw him back in the 70's.

In the early 1990s, I saw Crosby, Stills & Nash at Stephens Auditorium on the campus of Iowa State University. Absolutely amazing.
