Gibson LPs play like butter but you have to give 'em the bread. 8)

Think about what you could get in a Fender Strat for $2500-$3500. Maybe two quality Strats even. And if there is even a vibrato on the LP, it's design will be circa 1945 (eeks - and I thought the synchronized tremolo was ancient).

I also like my PRS but it isn't my style. Very thick sound - good for soulful blues or jazz - not much else unless you like 'bluh bluh bluh' sounds on the bridge pickup on the high-e string. ;)

For me, the LP looks better but they are also overpriced, IMHO.

My dad however, prefers the looks of the Strat to just about any other electric.

LPs and Strats have their place. Can't take anything away from the LP even though I don't have one. Maybe a Slash Epiphone some day for my second to move the old Squier down to third . . . look what great players use them.
