Question about pick-ups:

I got a DiMarzio PAF Pro humbucker in the bridge position and I STILL can't play like Petrucci.
Did I mis-wire something?
I can't post pictures, but I looks just like this:

Q: I bought a wah pedal but it doesn't sound like Hendrix. Should I ask for my money back?

A: Yes, because you are a Doofus.

Hi, I'm a left handed player (newbie) and bought a left handed guitar. Do I need to get a left handed amp too?

When is Fender going to change the Strat's design? It looks basically the same since day one.

I put 9, 10 and 11 gauge strings on my guitar but they sound the same!
Are they defective?

this is funny and sad at the same time.

i got my first strat in 1963. during the 10 plus years i owned it, it got banged around a lot, and it showed when i sold it. i never had a setup on it ,changed string gauges all over the place. and it still played great.

my old 62 or so princeton amp went to a new owner about three years ago. in all that time i did not ever change one tube- never a breakdown and always sounded great.

now 50 years later i find how little knowledge i have

My favorite that I've actually seen in the last couple of months in this forum.....

"OK, my switchy thing goes to 5 different places. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the top one goes to the top thing, the second goes to the second thing, the 3rd goes to the top of the double thing, the 4th goes to the bottom of the double thing and the 5th goes to both things and makes them double up right?"

yes and no on the rest of what you asked.

"I've been playing for a week straight and I haven't figured out how to play chords yet. Should I just quit while I'm ahead?"

Sure. If you can't just pick up your guitar and play anything you want after a week, you just suck and will never get it.

And of course the

"What is this "tone" I keep hearing about and how do I get it?"

If you stay up really late on a weekend, you'll find it on the televeision for $19.95.

There's a big difference between gold and chrome. If you do that, you'll only be able to play Goldmatic Scales. Yes, they exist, I've read "Infallible Web Dogma" which says so.

I bought an Eric Clapton sig strat, but when I play it, it sounds like me. I am pretty sure the problem is the amp. What do you think?

Your problem is directly and totally traceable to poor quality control on Fender's part.
