Got myself a Visual Sound Son of Hyde distortion today. It sounds awesome with my strat... not so much with my Gibbies. With the humbucker guitars it's very muddy.

I read in the manual that there is a trim pot inside the pedal that can be used to adjust the bass. I guess I'll have to experiment with this some and see what happens. Any of the demos I saw on youtube sounded great - and I'm not talking pro demos with mic'd amps. I'm talking the ones done with the audio from the video camera that usually don't do the guitar sound justice.

I love my Visual Sounded pedals. This is my 4th one. Next up is the Garagetone Chopper tremolo. :)

Very cool, I want to try the 808 and the Open Road looks nice as well.

My whole pedal board was stolen about 1 1/2 years ago. I had a Jekyll & Hyde V1 silver box, that I bought new, on the board. I knew I couldn't get one of those new now. I can't say I really didn't like the new version, I've never played one. Just read a boatload of reviews, and opted to get the original again. I love it. I play 2 styles: 1. Blues, 2. Hard Rock. It covers both really well. Never had a problem from my old pedal, hope this one last a long time also.

Let me know how that tremolo sounds. I've just started looking for one of those.

I found in the manual that there is a bass control inside the pedal on the circuit board. after opening up the S of H that turning down the Bass trim pot helps. It was kinda muddy sounding because the factory sets this pot at Max.

It sounds fine with my humbucker equiped guitars now.

Deluxe Matt - The Route 808 is an amazing pedal. I have the Double Trouble, which is the Route 808 x2. The Route 808 is also the same circuit as they use in the OD channel of the Jeckyl & Hyde and also the Route 66. So if you like that, you'll like the route 808.

Something to add about the Route 808 circuit - it's a clone of an Ibanez TS-808 but with a few modifications. A noise reduction circuit and a bass boost mainly, but there is also a very heavy duty switch as well as a buffer circuit to boost your signal to reduce signal loss when using long runs of cable or putting your guitar through multiple pedals.
