Has anybody ever done it? I know that Jack White does it occasionally and it sounds kinda cool. I'm considering buying one of these http://www.musiciansfriend.com/pro-audi ... bullet-mic to try it out. Just wondering if anyone's ever tried it, and what you think of it.

I have done that on multiple occasions, and it's a cool, funky, lo-fi sound like no other.

One tune required some funky nastiness for the vocals, so I put a Shure SM58, an MXL 990 and an Astatic 200S in front of me during the final vocal recording, them we blended the three...one pristine, one warm, and one nasty...sounded awesome.

I just make mics out of phone receivers. Sounds rawer, has more treble, and feeds back more. :P
