cool, thanks.

But seriously, I'm not going to play anything more than I have to, whether it be dirty, or clean, it's going to be simple.

You're letting yourself down.

Most negative comments would come from people who assume you have your guitar tuned and that your playing is crap. Tuning every string to the same note is just retarded. Any musician who listens to that can tell something aint right.
Don't be so damn lazy boy.

Sorry if I sound harsh, but I'm not about to use one of these on you.

They aren't tuned the same way. Only the G-Thin E, considering I rarely, if ever use them.

And it's cool if you use your torture device. I'm into that kinda thing.

It's not a torture device. It was used to administer smoke enemas to drowning victims, believed to aid recovery. Hence the expression. It was a useless remedy, like false praise, something Australians don't do.

I don't know, having my lungs forcefully filled with smoke seems pretty torturous, no matter the reason for administering it. And I'm sure you have religion in Austrailia

I mean, SK, I know you won't see this and all, but you're a bit harsh. You're angry because someone chose a different playing style? That's a bit immature of someone who is as mature as you are. Be a big boy and accept other people's differences.

I tried that before SK, but the forum made little sense without it's most prolific poster. Now he doesn't bother me.
(Bux, while your looking up "prolific" in the dictionary, you might want to also check "enema". It doesn't go in the lungs mate  )

I believe that device is for blowing smoke up ones arse.

I think I get where you are coming from, I never took lessons or worried about being a great player either. I mostly just wanted to make up my own jams and have fun with it.

Do your own thing and enjoy it, just expect a lack of smoke being blown from the players around here. It takes alot of time and effort to develop proper technique so I can understand the view that not bothering with all of that is lazy.

I guess it all depends on what you want out of it, even without money for lessons there are a ton of free resources online, not to mention the good advice from people on this forum.

The way SK is treating the idea of playing guitar is a shame. I thought we, as players, could be some kind of community. There should be no elitism, segregation based on skill, or any of that mumbo jumbo. Why can't you just play for enjoyment? I play with people who are better than me a lot, and they get enjoyment out of what we can create when we work together.

SK, the Ramones don't make up the whole genre.

And I'm sorry I didn't know what that device was used for, Box. I don't typically drive down the Hershey Highway

Sounds good ,particularly the Exploited.
Sorry if I was too subtle about giving praise. And stop fighting kids. It's all just words on a screen. Goodnight.

It'd be great if most people could realize that.

Buxom:
Your timing is getting better.
I can hear the aggression that you're trying to convey, so it's successful on that level. I think you have too much distortion dialed in, but that's my opinion only.

I have no problem with your "limited" abilities, nor do I have a problem with your lackadaisical attitude about improving your abilities. If you're playing for your own pleasure and amusement, then you have been successful again.

However, on a website full of guitarists, you have to expect criticism--harsh, constructive, sarcastic or polite--no matter what you do. The old joke about how many guitarists it takes to change a lightbulb is true...(Q: How many guitarists does it take to change a lightbulb? A: One hundred. One to change it and ninety-nine to say, "I could do that...")

If you are posting or linking to a recording that is obviously raw and simplified, expect a bit of criticism, and accept it without complaint.

Some very accomplished musicians have been criticized for their postings here (Euphoria comes to mind--he/she/? obviously has some chops, but people have been a bit brutal on occasions regarding the latest "sample" as they are labelled).

To everybody else:
Maybe before we express our opinion, we should consider what the player's intention is. If they're just banging on the axe for the sake of banging, perhaps it would be best to leave them alone.
If they are truly wanting feedback, give it to them, as diplomatically or as harshly as you wish...but remember that you might be starting a fire that burns everybody.
