That's the best idea I've heard all day long!

Never had a Marshall, but I do love their sound...he will be missed.

What kind of head would it have though?

No feeling like standing on stage with a Marshall stack behind ya.
R.I.P. Jim Marshall.

And thats just what it is, a feeling. Put that volume on 7 and the amp pushes so much it becomes a part of the guitar.

I've never played another amp that does that, to that extent.

I remember in the movie "Spinal Tap" they were using Marshall amps that had volume knobs that went to 11 (for that little extra push). Very funny. Sad to see Jim pass.

A reasonable sized item on the national Ten O'Clock News on TV tonight. Not often an amp maker gets that on their passing! And Joe Bonamassa no less playing a row of Marshalls for the cameras and talking to an uncomprehending public about how special they are.

If ya gotta go, it's nice that people notice.

Again: RIP Jim Marshall.

Cheers - C

Indeed it would, unless Fender does a Tweed Bassman/JTM45 commemoration amp first

Though the two amps sound nothing alike. Marshall aren't averse to mid frequencies.
And the preamp section is different.

By the way, RIP must mean Rock In Paradise, yes? 8)

Cheers - C

EDIT: D'oh! I just notice that Nick said exactly the same thing at the top of this page. Pay attention, Ceri!

Although I never met the man I still feel like I've lost a close friend .Ever since I was a kid I vowed that someday I'd have a Marshall and when I finally did I felt that I'd really reached the pinnacle of guitardom.I loved my first Marshall so much that I bought 2 more-3 if you include my MS-4.Jim Marshall by creating such an iconic line of amps has reached the same amount of adulation that any Bona Fide rock star would sell his soul to have, yet he was always an affable and humble man.
Thankyou Jim Marshall for your incredible contribution to the musicians of the world and creating a line of amplifiers that are synonymous with rock music.God speed and God Bless You.
