You should not seek counseling.

I spent the entire weekend and a few hours over the past two days researching intensely Bugera and Blackstar cuz I'm not feelin' it wit dah V head and nothing Fender within my budget inspires me. Yeah, the v head's nice but...it's not sending chills up and down my spine, it's not making me cry or laugh, it's not touching my soul...but...it still works quite well after the updates and some filtering and is highly playable. So, I too grappled with the "guilt" thing and decided to wait till next month to give the v head a little more time! And then I read your post and realized...if I were perfectly happy with my v head I wouldn't be looking at other amps. So...you must not be perfectly happy with your tone or you'd busy enjoying it. That's not guilt. That's self-actualization! ...in-fact, hang on a sec...

Order Complete

Russell,

Thank you for your Order !

...identifying and enjoying good tone is not wrong -- it's a thing of beauty! Why? Smiles *are* contageous. If you're happy and smiling, so should everyone else around you, nutthin' wrong with that!

Thank you for sharing -- you inspired me to pull dah triggah on dah Blackstar, today, here and now!

You should seek your best cables and favorite guitar to bond with the amp when it arrives!

If mine don't arrive by Friday, it's ah gonna be a long weekend of anticipation! Hopefully, it's coming out of Nevada and not NJ. The last time I placed an order on a Wednesday that came out of Nevada, it arrived on Friday!

Best of luck to you with your new amp!

Now, I get to pick which amp works best for me and then either sell off the V head or return the Blackstar if it don't cut it (I've got a zoom g9.2tt so I won't be short on effects) -- guilt free!

Thanks again, that was a huge relief...the Blackstar would have haunted me all month.

Hey, wait...you just put a huge smile on my face -- THANK YOU, what a relief!!!

Pic's first, counseling only after you've talked with a counselor that counsels on issues related to counseling. With a second and perhaps a third opinion to verify the counsel diagnosis and recommendation of treatment counseling.

picked up today at lunch break. unboxed, plugged in and ready to make noise. sheer excitement. let it warm up, plugged in i was sure i'd hear sounds i've never heard in my life. well, that didn't happen. instead i got a few clear sounds and then crackle and then nothing. brand new cord, old cord, differnt' outlet, differn't guitar and nothing. extremely disappointed. there is a word that starts with F that i will never use on this forum. i'm carefully boxing the amp up and returning it. i'll let you know what happens.
right now i'm so very upset that i could spit. ( as danny would say ).

Oh Man that is bad news Jeebus. I sincerely hope this all works out well for you.

Still, it's a nice excuse to get a 50watt DSL or a 60watt TSL! You'll get one of the last amps made by Jim Marshall!

Is it new or used? Was it shipped to where you picked it up?

Mines new, shipping from Nevada. Hopefully, it makes it through FedEx without any problems.

**it happens! I'm shocked any tube amp makes it through shipping without tubes breaking!

At least we know the amp has great tone! The one I'm getting is the HT5RH (5 watt head).

I'd bring it back to the store and request an inspection to find out what happened! If a tube got broke during shipping, no biggie, get it replaced.

I read somebody else's post in another forum about the same experience. He contacted Blackstar and got replacement tubes, immediately!

Hi Jeebus, don't despair or feel guilty, you are merely afflicted with a bad case of GAS,unlike other maladies the only known treatment for GAS is to embrace it and give into it and fill your house with gear. That certainly works for me.

Hey, git ur disorders straight! He had MAAS (mild amp acquisition syndrome). 8), ...a symptom of self-actualization! We'll need some more time to see how he responds for the prognosis.

My amp is still sitting in Reno... ...ya think some FedEx guy is playing it...kicking it around...or...it's just sitting there idle...in eager anticipation of its new home?

8)

The larger question for me is...will I keep the V head in a fit of AAS, or actually sell it if I decide to keep the Blackstar head!

This is true. I'd simply never bother having an amp shipped. I want to try it in the store then take it home myself.

Whatever: I'd try contacting the seller and seeing if they'll just supply replacement valves/tubes before going through the hassle of shipping it back to them. That almost certainly works out cheaper for them too, so they may well be happy to work that way. Quicker and better for everyone.

Good luck - C

C'mon, we know the honest answer to this, don't we? :D Surely there's other rooms in your house that need an amp? Don't you sometimes want to plug in in the bathroom? Or the kitchen? Maybe the garden tool shed needs an amp?

A man can always find a good reason for one more amp in his life...

Cheers - C
