The Late Great (Muddy Waters) would have turned 97 today.

The Blues Man from Ireland (Gary Moore) would be 60 today.

Happy Birthday to you both. I can only imagine what it must sound like in heaven right now. 8)

During Muddy's 78 Tour with Eric Clapton, I saw him at Wings Stadium in Kalamazoo and he came out and did Mannish Boy and I thought for sure he was going to have a heart attack right there, he put it ALL into that song! Thanks to Muddy for all he did for the Blues and Rock and Roll! If anyone ever deserved to RIP it is Muddy!

Still Got the Blues...got to be his finest moment ever...that is a perfect song, no way to improve on that! RIP Gary.

T2

The version of Mannish Boy that Muddy did on his Hard Again album with Johnny Winter and Pinetop Perkins has to be his best ever,it's just so raw and heavy.

Still Got the Blues was the pinnacle blues album for Gary. It's too bad that he died 4 months after I discovered him. I was under an "80's hair metal" rock for a long time. The same thing happened to me with SRV. Found him in '89, passed on seeing him in Houston in '90, later that year he was gone.
