I was just wondering what types of effects and amplifiers everyone uses. I don't know if there's already a post like this or not. Fairly new to the site. Anyway, I have a Boss ME-50 multieffects pedal right now. I wanted to get separate pedals so I could mix and match more, but I was on a pretty strict budget at the time, and it came out cheaper to get the ME-50 then to get 5 or 6 seperate pedals. I need an amp at the moment, my old peavey finally crapped out on me. Borrowed a fender practice amp from a friend. It works, but it's really small and old and it rattles some when you play too loud...lol

I use a DeVille 410, which I love. I have three pedals, Dallas Arbiter Fuzz, TS7 Tubescreamer and a Crybaby Wah. Their practically in almost new condition, but I haven't used them in a couple of years and frankly I just don't want'em anymore, so their on craigslist right now.

I can think of only one pedal that would actually be useful to me now and that's a compressor, I doubt I'll get one though.

heheh, the problem with separate pedals is the space they suddenly seem to start taking :)
And line noise if you use cheep patch cables.

I only have a TS-9 tubescreamer, Vox wah, Boss RT-20 , a vintage early 70's Ibanez flanger (too noisy to use anymore, I just don't want to part with it). and a Dunlop DC-brick to power them. But when they are all hooked together the jumble of wires and pedals take a fair bit of floor space..
My current project is to make or buy a decent pedal board. (currently infatuated with the boards from Trailer Trash http://www.trailertrashpedalboards.com/ might try a DIY with a similar design out of plywood.)

As for new amps, that is a quest I am on myself now.
Can't make up my mind between a
Ttwin-reverb, blues deluxe, blues deville and the new Twin-amp. All very different sounding amps. Each seems to become my favorite for a while, stores are going to get fed up with me testing them out :( :)

Don't feel bad about your ME-50, dude. I've got one too, and I really like it. I bought it used, so it cost me less than one good chorus and one good delay, and it's a great chorus/flange/delay plus a whole lot more. (The guys who do all the hatin' on mutlieffects are usually guys who use a little too much distortion.)

My favorite guitar tones are Larry Carlton's Steely Dan sounds, so my main amp is a tweed-style Fender circuit: a custom built tweed Princeton modified to use a 6L6 power tube. It's 5 watts of pure awesome, into a 10" or 12" Eminence (depending on the tone I'm going for).

For everything else, I use a POD Pro and Native Instruments Guitar Rig 3.

Now I'm using a Cyber Twin SE and a Peavey Classic 20 amp. I'm not much on pedals, Boss Chorus and a EC pedal that I don't even use anymore. I'm thinking of getting another Visual Sound Route 66 OD/Comp pedal. I had one a few years ago that got ruined by a leaky roof. I miss it. Oh yeah, I've got an early 80's MXR compressor.

I use electro harmonix pedals mostly. I'm looking into getting some of the new fender reissues.

Strat
-> CryBaby Wah
-> Fulltone '70 Fuzz Pedal
-> Boss ME-20
-> Fender Deluxe Reverb

I'll throw in a TS-9, SD-1 or OCD from time to time, but the above is pretty much standard for me...

Man, I love gear threads...

Yes, you can. I haven't tried it, and I don't know how good it would sound (it's not a modeler, just an effects box), but it does have a headphone jack.
