Go back further. Tampa Red, Son House, Lightnin Hopkins, Blind Blake, Blind Lemon Jefferson, Old Muddy Waters, and John Lee Hooker, Earl Hooker, Robert Lockwood, Robert Johnson Howlin Wolf, Willie Dixon, Long John Hunter, David "Honeyboy" Edwards ect and you'll see where everything comes from.

@ '63 Supro,Funny but I had about 90% of those on your list posted-or so I thought-and I must have forgotten to click submit so it's good that someone posted them. There are also great harp players who shouldn't be ignored and that's Sonny Boy Williamson and Junior Wells. One guitar player who was probably the first or only one to use a 12 strin.g for blues is Ledbelly.

Check out Paul Black & The Flip Kings. The only album available is called King Dollar.

Paul is the best slide blues guitarist you never heard of. I promise he will blow your mind and, given this album costs about $2.00, you get your moneys worth.

You've never heard anything like it.

I recently got Melvin Taylor's "Rendezvous with the Blues" and it's great, not a bad song on the entire album.

Anything by Joe Bonamassa. Check out Seasick Steve, Cut my wings, on YouTube and notice there's only 3 strings on his guitar. He is also on iTunes.

Got any suggestions for instrumental songs/albums?

Hey- Smokin' Joe Kubek Band Featuring B'nois King- killer Texas Blues that should be relatively easy to find.

+1 I recently downloaded the song, "Have Blues Will Travel" from Amazon for free. Great Song!

Also got "Too Late" by Guitar Shorty, catchy tune.

Not sure if you can find the CD but I like Larry McCray. He plays a song titled Delta Hurricane which is awesome!
