I have most of the music I want from the big names like, Clapton, BB King, Jeff Beck, Buddy Guy etc.

I'm looking for artists with CD's out who aren't necessairily the household names. I'd like to be able to order their CD's online or get them off of iTunes. I just recently learned about Johnny Sansone, Suzi Vinnick and Robin Rogers so I have a lot to learn.

Any suggestions :?:

Thanks

A good one is the album with Robert Cray, Albert Collins and Johnny Copeland on Alligator records, it's called "Showdown" i think, you can get it at Amazon.

Another great one is "Guitar Slinger" by Johnny Winter, superb that one, hot hot playing.

Here's a group I just stumbled onto a few weeks ago. Billy D has been playing for decades with a number of big blues names and now he's out on his own.

This guy has incredible songs, awesome playing and great guitars and amps! Check him out!

I've been listening to the Ronnie Earl and Duke Robillard album "The Duke Meets The Earl". I can't recommend it enough. There is some great playing on it.

Oh, and I guess I should add:

Jimmy Thackery

Tab Benoit

Tom Principato

Tinsley Ellis

These guys are all great, have all been around a long time and would be great additions to your collection!

Anything by Jack Pearson, not all of it is standard blues, but jazz/blues flavored pickin' by a master of any style...one of the best there is.

+1 on Tab Benoit...he's really great, especially his debut and his last two albums.
Lincoln Durham
Otis Rush
Gary Clark, Jr.
Denny Freeman
The Kim Wilson Blues Revue and Kim Wilson's solo albums (Nothing like the Fabulous T-Birds)
Gordy Johnson
Dave Millsap

Several of these weren't straight blues--some of them have rock or Americana influences.

I highly recommend Johnny Winters latest release, "Roots," which features different artists sitting in on each song playing mostly blues classics (thus the title "Roots"). I have had it playing for weeks on all of my devices.

Hey- Smokin' Joe Kubek Band Featuring B'nois King- killer Texas Blues that should be relatively easy to find.
B.B. and the Stingers- maybe a little more difficult to get a hold of, but if stardom was based solely on talent, Bernie (B.B.) would have been the biggest of all time.
Jimi Hendrix (with whom you may be familiar) was reportedly once asked how it felt to be the world's greatest guitarist, and replied "I don't know, you'd have to ask Rory Gallagher." Check out his "Irish Tour '74"- an awe-inspiring live album.
