My honey is allergic to shellfish, so I don't cook it often, but she's gone to a gospel concert, so I had deep 1/4lb fried shrimp, 1/2lb boiled crab legs, potato wedges, wine and The Rolling Stones live in 1981 at The Hampton Coliseum playing.

I know the foodies out there are going "Yipes, red wine with seafood?", but I had cajun seasoning on the shrimp, and in the boil water, so I brought a bottle of Louis Jadot Pinot Noir (2009). It was perfect with the spice of the shellfish.

Oh, I brought "The Rolling Stones live in 1981 at The Hampton Coliseum" for $4.99 on Google Music https://play.google.com/store/search?q=rolling+stones+hampton&c=music. This is a great show IMO.

Question,
When I have been ib the States, I fill my face with the seafood, Snow crab, Shrimps, lobster, Crays in fact anything but there is one thing that always puzzles me...
You get the legs and claws but what happens to the body meat? Not once have I been given the whole crab ever. Where does it go, does it get chucked away, is it used to make patties???
The Wife' s Uncles lives in Panama City, in the bayous area and every day, I set the crab pots and every day I was eating Blue Swimmers fresh from the sea.. Hmmmmm

There's not really that much meat in the body. I have a brother that lives in Seattle and has sent us a box of of seafood from the Pike Place Fish Market http://www.pikeplacefish.com/.

There was a cooked whole Dungeness crab in the box, which I cleaned and saw that there wasn't much meat in the body. I made crab cakes out of the meat, they were the best I've ever eaten.

Everything sounds great except the wine. I don't drink which is why I said that.

I most times always have wine with my dinner. I have a small wine stash, not really a wine cellar, but still a nice selection.

Today we're having beef ribs that I smoked in my Weber with mesquite chips, collard greens, sweet potatoes and cornbread. I still have half a bottle of wine left from yesterday to drink with my meal.

How interesting! I Smoked up a huge rack of Pork Spareribs for me and the lady yesterday with a Crispy Leafy Green Salad, Blue Cheese Dressing and Baked French Fries. Washed it all down with some good Mexican "Cerveza".. :D :D

I also smoke pork spareribs, since we had a really mild winter, I smoked spareribs, chickens and polish sausages quite a lot. We have one of those vacuum food sealers, so she sealed the meats. We have a freezer full, and this makes for quick meals.

One summer my brother in law-who is a marine biologist- made several trips on a fisheries research vessel to study the shrimp population and breeding grounds around the island part of our province and would bring back large amounts of shrimp that they used to get as by-catch. Also that summer my daughter's boyfriend at the time was working as a grader/observer at the local crab plant and he would bring us bag after bag of crabs legs, we ate so much shell fish that summer that we worried that we would turn pink like flamingos do from feeding on shrimp.BTW our lobster season will soon be opening,we usually pay about $5-$6 a pound for them how much does everyone else pay for them? They are my favourite food and every Father's Day we have a big feed of them and I generally eat 2 or 3 at least.

I LOVE seafood but the bride can't stand it so I don't get to eat it at home very much. And I am not a wine fan but I would have choked through a glass to get at that shrimp and crab!

Stones Hampton show, great dvd, one of my favorites.

Hungry now, gotta run! :)

Tonight we're having pan roasted broccoli, grilled chicken & a salad.

Yesterday my honey baked a banana pudding cheesecake, it had to sit in the frige for at least 8hrs, and it's now ready.
