I have 2 of these cabinets. I have not been able to find any information about them (besides a classified ad from Columbia) to satisfy my curiosity about the item. Can anyone identify it, Id like to know when they were made and how much they may be worth. FYI they are each 3x10" speakers stacked vertically.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Wow that is a blast from the past!

In the mid 1970's Fender marketed a modular PA System sold as a package deal called the Fender PA 100. It gave the Kustom column system of the day a run for the money in tone for sure.

There are three components that you do not have.

You have the two speaker cabs.

There also were 2 horn cabs and they sat on top of the speaker cabs. They had rubber feet that nestled into the recessed cups.

The third component you are missing is the head which was fashioned in the style of a Silverface guitar or bass head but it had 4 input channels with two high impedance microphone input jacks per channel with separate volume, treble and bass pots for each channel and output 100 watts. The amp chassis itself looked a lot like a Twin Reverb without the tremelo circuit. The amps themselves are often used by guitar or bass players these days as they are relatively cheap and fairly powerful when compared to a Bassman or Bandmaster head of the same vintage.

With the horns on top the cabs would look like this:

Here is a PA100 amp apparently rocking on as a guitar head and the grill cloth on the head's cabinet has been spray painted black, but it was the standard cloth of the day:

Sweet, thanks BrotherDave for the information. I paid 20$ for them close to 10 years ago (just the 2 cabs) and used them as my first PA system. I remember using contact cement to patch up a couple of the speakers... ended up replacing some of them.

I hope the guy I bought them from is still using that head! I dont remember ever seeing the horns though.. I would have taken the whole package if I knew.

The only thing is that the cabs I have are 3x10 and all the pa 100's are 4x8. I would imgine they are part of the same series...

Thanks again!

Sorry, missed the part about the 3x10 the first time. Possibly the same thing, but in a package called the PA135. 2 more power tubes for 35 more watts.
