Good looking Ax man. The photo looks good. If you look at my bass pic above yours, you'll see a reflection on the chrome knob plate.

Thanks man. Yours is nice a well, so many sweet guitars posted here!

Thanks for the nice comments guys. Actually a neutral gray works, but using contrasting colors is a lot more fun. The Strat and Supro were shot with a 4x5 large format camera with a 48" softbox and a reflector using Speedotron Blackline studio flashes. You can use natural light and reflectors. Digital cameras are great. I used 4x5 Polaroid proofing film and Fujichrome trans film.

Try different things and use reflections to your advantage.

Yo no hablo photography...

I think it's interesting (to a point) to hear the technical jargon of a art form or hobby or occupation that goes way over my head...but there's a lot that goes over my head lately. :?

SA, here is the easiest way for me to explain it. If you ever watch the Three Stooges, and Curly gets his head stuck in a huge camera and looks like an Elephant, That's me! It's one of those big jammers with a long bellows.

Sorry, sometimes I get carried away with tech stuff. It really isn't rocket science, just sounds like it. Anyway, there's some really fine guitar photos on here.

There really are! Including very obviously yours. 8)

Speaking as someone who has visibly failed to benefit from technical advice on photographing guitars on this Forum before... it's all rocket salad to me. But I have no difficulty admiring and enjoying the work of others. More guitar pix will be gladly pored over! :D

Cheers - C

Thanks C, I'm trying to find some time to do some more. It's a struggle, because free time is so hard to come by. I'm grateful that I'm busy, but I really do love photographing guitars. The main part of my business is product photography.
