Has Gibson ever made for example a Gibson Stratocaster? LOL that sounded funny. Or Fender made a fender Les Paul..or something like that..?

In the mid 70's Gibson came out with the S-1 solid body that was similar to a strat in a few ways. It was single coil or humbucking. Single cut, probably to avoid the lawsuit.

The Gibson Victory was Strat-like & seemed intended to keep a Gibson sound too.
Here's a link to a site in Italian--but you can see pictures-
http://www.webalice.it/valledelvento/victory.htm
and there's a bit about it here-
http://www.theguitarcollection.org.uk/gallery5/victory.html

They weren't too bad, but they never made it--they seemed too much like a compromise.

Fender had the original Starcaster- http://www.vintageguitars.org.uk/adDetails/197
And the Master series-

Thats awesome. I've never seen one/ever heard of one. I bet they'd put a hole in your wallet to get one now.

A few years ago I saw an ad for a Gibson that looked almost exactly like a Strat. The heading stated, "We've taught this old dog some new tricks".
It didn't last long.

Fender may have tried to grab some of the ES-335 market with the Coronado and the Starcaster (the original one!).

That was probably the Victory.

Is this for guitar look-a-likes that have Gibson on the headstock? Cause Gibson currently has the Valley Arts guitars that are ripped off teles.
