That is just freaking gorgeous. Ferrari is still pure in my mind, meaning they build high performance / touring cars period, no fugly SUVs like Porsche - though the 911 is still an incredible car and truly classic design. I would say a Strat in this color would be a treat.

Another $4.75M that could have gone to charity/helping the much less fortunate.

Hope he likes his new toy.

He set up a dependancy clinic.
The proceeds from some of his guitar auctions went to the clinic, in the millions.
A real stand up guy.
Nice to see a guy like that make a contribution and enjoy the fruits of his labours.

Thanks EC!

Eric turns 67 today and the SPC-12EPC is indeed a nice birthday present despite the global credit crunch turmoil hitting the planet since 2008.

Hope he deserves a matching-coloured Strat to celebrate the event.

Hee-hee! I've been escorting visiting American friends around town for a few days and every time we cross the road they go into nervous confusion about which direction the traffic is coming from.

Seems that after several days it's rubbed off and suddenly I can't tell my left from right! Hahaha - not my finest moment on the Forum!

Cheers - C

I think Clapton's new CS axes will look like this one, except the finish is slightly darker to closely match his new car.

Happy Birthday Slow Hand !!!

Eric Clapton recently received one, a custom-built 458 Italia, which is now an internet sensation. There are photos and rumors concerning a custom Ferrari 458 commissioned by musical legend Eric Clapton, who is known for having a passion for Ferraris, especially those equipped with 12-cylinder engines. Rich people get access to things everyone else cannot afford to dream about. One thing many people can't get is a completely personalized Ferrari. Ferrari makes its road cars to-order. If a person is going to spend more than $200,000 on a car, that person had better be able to get the precise color of seats desired.

I remember when I arrived in Canada a particularly ditzy English girl I knew drove our minivan onto the wrong side of the highway

Also when I got back from there after 4 or 5 years I spent a good month or two in England panicking in confusion at the side of the road not knowing where to look

I googled over the Internet to find a picture of him driving his new car with no luck.

I grew up in rural Georgia, then got stationed in Germany in the '80's. First time I'd ever been out of the South. My (now) wife and I decided to go to London for a long weekend. We decided to drive. I was in absolute terror from the time I drove off the ferry in Dover until we got back across to Calais.

And "roundabouts" were created by sadists!
