Ok, I first wanted to say that I think it's quite possibly the greatest song ever written. Second, I wanna know which version is your favorite. Mine is Stevie Ray's, and I've found a pretty good John Mayer version on YouTube, but it's only audio.

Duane and Eric's version from Layla is my emotional fav. My "wow, listen to that" fav is of course SRV's.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience - Axis:Bold as love holds the greatest version
of Little Wing , the original.
SRV's version is great too.

Both are great, but I prefer Jimi's version.

The band Concrete Blonde recorded a version that was a bside to one of they're singles. The singer has a really strong voice. They released a version of Casltes Made Of Sand as well. James Mankey is the guitar player, he was also in the band Sparks. He's one of my favorite guitar players he plays some really nice solos imo. But I have to say the version of Little Wing on Axis: Bold As Love is my favorite. That's one of my favorite albums of all time.

Original is great in the sort of way that most originals are.

SRV's is packed with emotion, definately a great cover.

But the best one is the one from the Jimi Hendrix Experience Box Set (the big purple suede case). It's got an instrumental version by Jimi which I think is absolutely the best version.

Got that one, will play it in a moment.

Thanks.

The original. I don't really like SRV's - its a bit long and misses out a lot by being purely instrumental.

Pity I'm not good enough to play it. I guess I'll have to come back to it in a few months :)

There are two versions on the box set. The one with words is great but I think the instrumental is untouchable. It's also a bit more intense. Shame that my favorite version is the one without lyrics. The lyrics are amazing.

Stevie's version, for me. They didn't even know the tape was rolling. Priceless.

SRV, the "live from the Mocambo" version. Man, he's smokin' in that one.
