Your best so far. There is the timing thing though. You should be able to download some sort of rhythm track.

Hey, check out Grinderman
Kinda makes your buzzsaw sound like an electric shaver

While it was good, it kind of ruins the simplicity aspect. I also sense a challenge...

I thought it expressed the frustration perfectly.
Anyway, no challenge. I just thought it may interest you.
The frontman (Nick Cave) has been in the business for a long time, but only recently picked up the guitar for this side project (Grinderman). He seems to have some sort of open tuning going on. As you can see, he's not doing much chord wise.

No, Luddy-Pie. The style of play is.

I already have a band name picked, but I need to get my friends motivated. I'll hopefully be hanging out with a drummer friend for most of spring break.

I'd say my favorite guitar tone over all is here. Starting at 0:49 and again at 1:18

Havana Affair isn't my favorite song by them, but it has my favorite tone. The reason it isn't my favorite is purely due to subject matter of the song. If I had to pick a favorite, I never could.

It's between these 2.

Oh yeah mate here is my playing tip.
Don't bother with a metronome, or with tab too much.
Play along to records and if you can get a drummer, play alongside the drummer at every opportunity.
Thats how to get that rhythm playing down. Just the same as playing a lead break, you have to get it in your head before you can get it out of the guitar.
Also a lot of what you hear as full frontal assault guitar actually isn't. It's a careful construction of restraint then release. Making it sound tense. Johnny Ramone was the utter master of that. It wasn't all six strings on just downstrokes all night long. Though it appeared that way.

You'll get there man. Rhythm playing and even singing are more to do with feeling your way through the song till you become familiar with it. More so than most other instruments.

I know the trick to the heavier tone. I knew this from observing live footage carefully. The way his arm moving and the sound sort of doesn't match up. And I've taken video of my arm when I play higher tempo/heavier stuff. I get a similar effect when I got directly over the pickup or right next to the saddle.

Also, lovely band. You have that classic early UK sound, which is a hard thing to get. I always pictured you as a metal guy though. Guess I was wrong

And I'm hopefully getting some work done with a drummer, I've played with him and another friend before. We managed to make a single recording, which was a horrible one. I got put in charge of being rhythm and also got put in charge of doing the solo. I had only been playing 3 months at the time. It was bad, but we enjoyed ourselves.

Enjoying yourself is all it's about mate.

Oh and I'm not an anything guy. I just listen to what I like. Easier that way.

I feel you, this is just my main genre though.
