Listen to what others say and decide if that makes sense--then try them in all sorts of orders and decide for yourself.

I hear stuff about a wah should come before a distortion and others like it the other way around.
Me I have both--I have a distortion before & after an Auto Wah.

Sometimes you want to distort the wah--others wah the distortion.

I put everything in front of my drive pedal then use a mixture of that pedal and the amp drive to get the basic sound I want. Have the effects running into that lot. Cos I can't think of one good example of an effects loop use. Or an instance where a good sound was obtained without running effects into the front end of an amp then using the amp for drive.
