You are a mean old man....

...for making me listen to that! :P

The thing is, people should think about what they are touting as a "good example" of their playing. I am a mediocre (at best) guitarist, but I never put anything out there for the public to hear that isn't up to some standard.

Honestly, I would like to hear stuff by you and your son; I think that would be enjoyable...

Hey SA...just checking back in,the last show we did on St. Patrick's Day was filmed by one of our friends,I haven't seen it yet,and I know when I do the only thing I'll hear are the mistakes I made, but we're a jam band doing solos on the fly,so a missed lick here and there is inevitable.
The one thing SSP and all budding musicians need to learn is that dealing with criticism is a part of life if you put your music out for friends,an audience,or for the WWW as he and so many others are doing.
You and I and all the seasoned guitarists and bassists on these forums have learned that and still, the critics can be hard to deal with sometimes...but when I can,I'll post my vids for the people's pleasure...or displeasure.

I've got a feeling Rebelsoul that somewhere in a darkened room there are lots of little replica Rebelsoul dolls with pins sticking into them, you're going to leak like a collander

Ok now you guys have forced me to come back. Please read this carefully.

First, and most importantly, I am NOT 5miniskirts or whoever that is!!! That is obviously some kind of trolling porn thing that has stolen *part* of my video, probably because it's a bot that trolls and found the word "skirt." If you guys read the comment I left there (the link that rebel posted), it tells you to click on my "skirtsoplain" channel to see the real vid. That's me. I would not have been bothered by this at all except for whatever this 5miniskirts thing is combined with you guys thinking that's me. My channel on youtube is "skirtsoplain."

http://www.youtube.com/user/SkirtSoPlain?feature=watch

By the way, rebel has done this to try to embarrass me. It was not my goal to come here and get hits on my youtube site. At the same time, I'm not embarrassed by the full vid of me playing several songs 6 months after first getting a guitar (and I'm a busy father with barely any time to practice, but whatever). And you pros should be able to tell that the tone problem is obviously the recording device (my cell phone).

And I do suck at guitar, by the way. Don't think I'm denying that or making excuses, but the camera simply cannot record any volume and it totally distorts so bad that sometime sound is flat out missing. When I figure out how to record, I'll come back here and post again and take your criticism. Whatever.

Didn't think about this kind of thing (5miniskirsts misappropriating my video) when I picked that name. Skirt So Plain rhymes with Kurt Cobain, by the way. I don't wear skirts, rebel. I thought you guys knew that. I also thought of other band names, such as Dirt Show Train and Hurt No Pain. I grew up on rap, what can I say?

Second, I'm not that embarrassed about that video, because

(1) It was done about 6 months after the first time I ever touched a guitar; and
(2) you can see more than 3 chords there rebel if you watch the whole thing (5 miniskirts stolen video cuts some of it off) :D and I think my solo is pretty good in D-7 for a 6-month player; and

(3) the sound quality in no way represents any tone--as it says in the description on the real video on my page (skirtsoplain), it is recorded with a cell phone camera that distorts everything very badly. I haven't bothered to figure out how to record because I know I suck at guitar and I spend my time trying to get better. I'm not worth recording yet. I have not recorded anything in a year, after seeing how terrible the sound quality is if one uses a cell phone camera to record.

Anyway, enjoy. Y'all are some nice people. Click on the link to go to my real youtube page. You'll see some good playlists there.

Oh by the way, Skirt So Plain is my band, not me. I'm the rythmn guitarist. I need a vocalist, lead guitarist, bassist, and drummer. Hit me up if you know anyone.

I will be going away so feel free to not respond, but I'll leave this here for a while for you to see.

THE IMPORTANT THING TO KNOW IS THAT I AM NOT THIS 5MINISKIRT TROLL PORN CRAP, WHATEVER THAT IS, AND I HAVE PUT A COMPLAINT IN TO YOUTUBE. If you look at that, you can see that it is some kind of trolling thing that is somehow swiping videos. That's not my youtube page.

Buxom, I do play a lot better, now, than what I've heard from you. I don't know how to record properly, however, and I spend my time practicing, not figuring out how to record (because I admit I'm still not good enough to be worth recording). But whatever, it's not a competition. When I came here for the first time I thought I'd find some cool people who wanna talk about music, perhaps with a sense of humor. I was totally unprepared for the viciousness that is here with some of you. Y'all have fun with each other though. Whatever.

So see Rebel, I can take some criticism. I'm still waiting for you to have time to post one of your videos. I would think you'd have time, since you had time to stalk me and find (a stolen, partial version of) my video and then come here to try to embarrass me. But I forgot, you are, after all, the 58 year old man who told a 15 year old kid doing his best that he has no talent and never will and has no aptitude whatsoever. That's real nice.

Oh yeah, I did respond to your other message but took it down too soon. Your accusations were just plain false. I never use the word "retard." I'm PC when it comes to that sort of thing. And you missed that discussion that day re Jake Ludwig. I'm not sure if you are able to follow this. The kid fender guy 1 has some kind of issues, it appears. Jake, on the other hand, seems to be one of the bad attitude kids. On that day, I was just joining in with 17 other people giving him a hard time when he was claiming that he has released 8 albums on a major record label or something. Armadillo is the number 1 basher of that kid! Not sure how you missed that.

Thanks for reading this far. Peace. I'm off to be with my children and enjoy my weekend far from any computer screen. You can watch all 24 minutes of my video and then come here and tell me I sucked at playing guitar when I had 6 months of experience and have no talent whatsoever, if you're that bored and have nothing better to do.

TL;DR He's butthurt

You're still a liar, you did use that word to Nathan....I know you did!
The reason it hit me hard was that I had a severly retarded cousin, who was born at the same time that my middle son was, while my son grew up to be a normal kid and young man,my cousin never matured past being an infant in mind but in a grown man's body....he died at the age of 28,never having said a single word except for an utterance of something that a heartbroken mother interpreted as "mama".
You had better thank whatever you consider your lucky stars, because that day when you called him that,if I had been close enough to grab you I would have beaten you senseless, make no mistake about it!
Deny all you want to,whatever you want to,to save face,to me,you're worthless.
That is my last response to you!
