On display at the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum in Austin until mid-October.

First time she's been in public since 8/27/90, when Stevie walked off stage for the final time and boarded a helicopter to immortality.

To a Texan, selling #1 would be equivalent to selling the Statue of Liberty or Big Ben...it's bigger than "just an instrument"...it's a state treasure.

Having said that, I will offer 450,000 Armadillo Bucks* immediately.

*Redeemable in the Bob Bullock State Museum Gift Shop only...

In the possession of one Jimmie Vaughan.

Several years ago when the custom shop made the #1 "scratches and all" replica, Jimmie brought it in for measuring, etc...there's an article out there that was originally in Guitar Player magazine, I'll try to find it and post a link later.

Jimmie donated SRV's "Lenny" Strat to Clapton's 2004 Crossroads auctions. It sold for $623500. (At the same auction, Clapton's Blackie sold for $959500.)

In today's troubled economic times it's hard to guess what sort of price First Wife would bring. But it's safe to say that if Jimmie had donated it instead of Lenny, it would have sold for much more than Lenny did. I think it would have topped Blackie.

What's the other guitar in the glass case with First Wife? (I'm definitely going to go see for myself, but it may be a couple of months until I get down there.)

That is probably Jimmie Vaughan's old white '56 Stratocaster...at one time it had "JLV" stickers on the upper horn. That guitar has a lot of history to it, too.
