Bad Religion is one. I'm most likely seeing them on Saturday though.

Maybe I need to pay more attention in german class.
I did a week long exchange visit to Germany last summer. I learned "Schwanze", "Fich dich" and "Hyaaawwwww", so I'm basically fluent. 8)

Hyaaawwwww?????!? WTF? I mean my German is pretty solid but I can't possible fathom what that one means. All the others were more or less dead on. And Ceri's kicking himself caused a small earthquake down here, so yeah, I noticed. Muahahahahahaha!!

Lads, let's meet on some beach to catch some sun and grill some stuff. Give us a shout when yr down here Niki. I feel you guys are skilled lifters of glasses so I shall assist Sir Bighair if he wants. It should be fun!

Cheers lads.

Oh and the Stoned, sorry, Stones: I've read they use a lot of playbacks in their gigs, I don't blame 'em at their age, but that kind of spoils it for me a bit.
McCartney I'd watch. I saw his recent iTunes gig at Capitol, and the muzos were fantastic, including him. Poor Joe Walsh looked a bit lost there though. :-D did anybody else watch that gig? T'was very swingy but not bad seeing some quality musicianship in such a big scale stream event.

""Hyaaawwwww"-Exclamation, often in response to cuteness or adorability. Use is particularly common amongst teenage German girls. See also English- "Awww""

I would actually love to see Andre Rieu. His absolutely mystical approach to "Classical Music for the common man" is Breathtaking. some of his concerts in an outdoor setting on a worm summers eve, are really quite a spectacle. Not to mention That I haven't seen Bonamassa yet. 8)

Ah, now I get what you mean. "Joooooooaaaaaaaaa wie süüüß!!!" is probably what you mean- I let myself be confused by Anglo-Saxon phonetics for a moment there. Were there many exclamations of this nature chucked at you during your stay in crusty Germany? Cudos if yes Never happened to me. :-/

And answering Ceri's original question posted in the thread title, the answer is yes!

I'd like to try my hand at trying to stand up to Townshend's thunder!

:-D

Oh and Jethro Tull. It would be a shame to miss out on them chaps. Recently listened to "Aqualung" again. Brilliant in my opinion.

Not so much. Thankfully they're all basically fluent in english.

Back on topic I'd like to see Glen Hansard or either of his bands- The Swell Season and The Frames.

Nutter your top of my hitlist to kidnap then corrupt...

Don't worry mate. Germany is the prime place on the planet for your inauguration into apocalyptic mayhem. Or Italy if you fancy that one for a 3day lash up with a bunch of crazy revolutionary types that believe whole heartedly in peace, love, animal rights and petrol bombing government buildings.

There are plenty of other tales, just not for these boards

Glen Hansard, eh? Now there's a songwriter worth his salt.

Ok going out on a limb here but songwriter - wise I'd love to have seen Cat Stevens in his heyday, Nick Drake on one of his rare gigs (I'da brought a spare pre-tuned guitar for him), Elliot Smith gigs were apparently worthwhile too.

As for living storytellers I'd love to see a Wilco gig at some point.

Well there shows my indie- singer-songwriter roots, eh? But don't be fooled. I like all sorts of stuff. My musical taste is an enigma even to myself. :-D

Nick anytime mate. Which part of Italy's on the list, by the way? General hint: more governmental buildings located in the north of that country. ;-)

BTW: I've never seen Paul McCartney live either. People tell me he puts on a good show. Anyone here caught him?saw sir paul early 90's in detroit area. tickets were sold out. i got lucky and won tickets on a radio station giveaway.

told my wife we were going to a tigers game. she isn't a baseball fan, but any excuse to get out of the house when the kids were small was ok

she noticed we drove by the stadium. i then pulled out the tickets, and i thought something was going to happen right there in the car  8)

anyway- the show was amazing- one of the best concerts i saw. and to think- this was 30 years into his musical career

Cheers - C
