I know it's been said so many times before, but if we concentrate on contributing to the fun, friendly and helpful threads and don't post on the silly ones then the silly ones go away and the good sort stay on the front page. I'm so glad of the great company I'm permitted to keep round here. Them's my feelings - C

These are wise words. I know that I have tried to always stay positive here, no matter what all was swirling around me. (I don't post very often these days, but I certaintly have not left.)

For so long, this site was an exception to the usual internet forums in terms of lack of intelligence, civility, etc. Evidently, it no longer is. I've seen so many esteemed, long time members' posts dwindle down to none or next to it. In their places, hoards of inane drivel have taken over where I continually ask myself, "Why do I bother any more?" Granted, intelligent posts do crop up sporadically but from what I perceive, these people are somewhat of a 'one shot, hit and run' variety where they get whatever it is they need to know and are forever gone. I can only presume this is largely due to some of the other (recent) stuff they read here while awaiting their singular purpose to (hopefully) be fulfilled.

Is this some moderator's fault? No! It is virtually impossible for any person to be a 24/7 omniscient referee or reduced to its lowest terms, a babysitter. I would presume that such a role would be completely unrealistic even to a corporate sensibility.

I am aware of and grateful to, FMIC for trying to do something nice for us Fender enthusiasts where granted, it does have a self-serving purpose too. Yet, the old saying, "No good deed goes unpunished" surely applies.

I would be remiss if I didn't state that I sincerely do miss the old days and most of the old time members/posters. Truly, it was a great ride. To you all, I wish you the very best of everything.

In conclusion, I shall take my leave as well. To the cretins whom I'm sure are taking delight in all this, I say, yea, I'm a fool, baby, poser, etc. and I'll make quite sure the door doesn't hit me in my crying $@! on the way out. Live it up, this is your place now!

Very sorry to hear this, but sadly it's true. :(

Your style from the very start was the model to me of how to behave on the internet. Probably haven't always lived up to it, but it's always there in mind. Never once seen you involved in silly stuff. Very cool.

Cheers - C

I am grateful for FMIC for providing us this this forum. It has been a useful tool for a number of mods/projects I have conducted and a great place to find advice/diagrams.
In the years I have been a forum member, I have posted very little. It is entirely possible that I missed something or just don't understand all that has happened in recent days. From what I gather, a young user has flooded the forum with useless/meaningless threads. It appears that there is more to this than I know.
Anyway you look at, I honestly believe this person would go away if everyone just ignored him. Posting on his threads calling him a troll or a retard is just feeding him and keeping him alive. Whatever is going on, I hope it all blows over soon and we can get back to being semi-civil. Thank you all again for the useful info.

This forum is like a radio station. There are a lot of irregular users and they'll jump into all of his threads and start reacting. Ignoring works only when everybody knows it's being done.

I think we've done quite well this time. The problem was addressed and solved in very short time, it took only a couple of days this time. Sorry for Nathan, I think his problems are far more severe than a forum can handle. My wish would be to stop him without being negative against him as a person, but that's asking a lot from a forum. Maybe a friend should go to his place and talk to him: Buxom?

Cheers

David

I must say, even for a short while it is good to have a break -even from most internet activity not limiting to this forum. Ive been enjoying the sunshine while it lasted down here but I always checked in the forum from time to time to see whats up. It pays not to sweat the small stuff and not let anyone upset you too much. People like that generally want response, and when they do the damage, they'll gap it and you won't see/hear from them again.

Anyways, I hope everyone has been well. Ive been putting a fair amount of energy into playing my guitar, walking & excersise, snorkelling & walking the dog, which previously was energy spent on the internet. I still remembered this place, so if anyone should ever check out for a while, I encourage you to do the same, and come back when its time to say hello :)

I was reading the posts in another thread, something about bending a note. that thread was completely out of hand, I believe it was the emergence of Rebelstole? Or whoever. I was actually going to say something, but couldn't without saying something I'd probably regret.

I seem to have discovered something. The little exclamation point we can click and even make a statement. It sure fixed a "problem".

Everybody try it if you feel the need.

For all the regulars, stick it out, you contribute too much good. For the young members, last the dinks out. Their attention span isn't that long.

Hang in there Martian.

Good one,brother!

I've been out of the loop for awhile and all the nastiness seems to have occurred during my absence. I'm a member of two forums that i visit regurlarly, this being one of them. More good stuff here than bad in my own experience.
