I'll be a mod :D

I'll ban the noobs and keep the elders. There's a new sheriff in town.

This sort of situation may have been inevitable. This is the Fender Forum, and naturally new users (of all sorts) are joining with each passing day.

The greats know who they are. I for one am truly grateful for the help I've been offered by them.

I shall take my leave as well. To the cretins whom I'm sure are taking delight in all this, I say, yea, I'm a fool, baby, poser, etc. and I'll make quite sure the door doesn't hit me in my crying $@! on the way out. Live it up, this is your place now!

OMG. What happened! I missed something I think! Martian you were a real asset here and I hope you come back!

Dammit Martian. We gotta have you. You are not expendable. Sorry, you can't go. :)

In general, I don't understand the problem. If I see a post by someone I find uninteresting or whatever, I just don't go there. So I never know what some cretin or the other has said and therefore I am totally unperturbed. I have no curiosity to check out the latest dumb thing someone has written. Unless it's mine.

I hope this all goes away. I thought the lull was because everybody had learned all they needed to know. I know me and supro and arjay have. :D

Cheers.

What a great post! :D

Cheers - C

(PS: All I've learned is how much I don't know...)

Martian, is there any way to keep you here? You'll be totally missed, I loved each of your insightful threads.

Cheers

David

Wow, I didn't realize I was rather punishing the innocent for the deeds of the guilty. Thank you all ever so much for your incredibly kind words and encouragement! I shall indeed stay then! :D

*whew*! that's a relief!

I'm rather quiet on this forum, reading a lot more than I write.
I am AMAZED by the collective resource of help and information
(and just plain good-natured conversation) that all of you are.

This noob would sure hate to see the foundation slip out from under just because of a few cracks.

"...the collective resource of help and information..."? Nah, we just make all that stuff up as we go along.

+1 to dfrain's comment. I don't post much because I don't need to. I do enjoy reading the insights though.

Martian,
I for one am grateful for all you have taught me and am very glad you have decided to stay. Yes, my posting has dropped of dramatically in part to a lot of the nonsense I see with some folks here but mainly due to my work on my album. But, I look at this place like my favorite hang out. You always get a couple knuckle heads who come in. Remember you got your buddies here! Thanks for staying!

I hope the other respected members follow suit.
Simple philosophy:
If you feed the beast, the beast will grow. If you starve it, it will die or go somewhere else to feed.
They'll post something looking for some sort of retaliation.
My choice would be to starve the beast.

... and Guitslinger... c'mon, man... you got more friends here than foes. 8)

It seems the latest Defender of Inanity (Rebel Stole) is the rebranded "Danny Dook" who earlier attacked several people by name.

Judging by his writing style, self-serving righteous indignation, unoriginal bad puns/take offs of other forum members' user names and the fact that he changed his name once and has already disappeared, I strongly suspect we may be dealing with the resurrected Earnest/Gossamer/Skirt So Plain (another moronic troll of the highest order).

A good test would be to compare Nathan's playing to Billy Corgan or J Mascis...he'd scream so loud satellites would pick up the sound.

Don't sweat it--he is paranoid and bound to get scared of his IT department tracking his goofing off at work and he'll delete his posts.

I'm glad Martian agreed to stay, and hope that GuitSlinger and Riley come back. I hope that NikiNinja stays around this time (nice to have him back).

I considered dropping out, but then I remembered the guys and girls who were my sole contact to the "guitar world" during my forced weekly commutes away from my home and family (which helped with my loneliness) and decided to hang around and see it it gets better. If it doesn't get better, I won't make an announcement, I'll just leave.

I appreciate most of you--I won't name names because I might leave somebody off--and hope that Brad has kicked off Nathan and will immediately do so again if he ever tries to return.

This is all I will say about this; any further comments from Nathan, his defenders or detractors will have to speak for themselves.
