Well you sorted the problem, so thats cool.

Perhaps Ceri is right that two mounting rings were (badly) mated together, but that 'ledge' looks almost deliberate to me. Is it at all possible that it was there to stop some ham-fisted buffoon lowering the pickup so far that it comes off the end of the screws and drops into the hollow bodied guitar! That would be a nightmare scenario trying to retrieve that!

I note Nik's latest comments about his Vintage Lemondrop. And it's fiery end puts me in mind of a certain "Be Bop Deluxe" album cover. I can only say my Lemondrop is a good 'un that plays and sounds great or perhaps Nik has higher standards than I do for what makes an acceptable guitar!

As for the inquiry about a picture of my tool: After a long series of frowning and laughing and sighing I have decided to post a picture of it - live, in the flesh, on the internet (which is in the world wide web), and in Technicolor.

The thing is, this tool is from the planet Proxxon and kinda always on the move - I tried my best but it was already on its way to another desperately clumsy handyman like me, and all I could get was one last shot of it before it teleported into hyperspace. That shot however turned out to be pretty heftily EPIC!

That gets pic of the week as far as I'm concerned! Quality!

The north is good, Unfortunately projects at work have over lapped which has munched was too much of my spare time. We're well over due a catchup mate! Must sort something out with you and Mr C sometime soon! I'll be in touch shortly!

Also good to see the Ninja back on the boards!

Andy

Andy you have no idea how lucky we are that my giant telescope was set to exactly that sector in space at that particular moment. All I could hear was this weird fizzing noise, and I just instinctively pressed the shutter release and right after that it was gone. Not even a pop or anything. Just a swished blip sort of sound like when turning off an old CRT TV...

Anyway it'll be good to catch up and yes we must definitely get a CAN or two (Ceri Andy Nutter get together) ;-)

Cheers mate and say hi to yours ;-)

BTW it's actually a Proxxon Minimot 40. It returned just two minutes ago, and I had a chance to take another pic. (this is actually the original pic I took with the improvised bluescreen... hehehe ;-)

Hi Mr Adey, good to see you! How is things? 8)

Yes it a possibility. I like your mind! And there I went and destroyed that person's genius master plan... D'oh! But I think it was as good only as it let you do some actual adjusting. Hmm so now I have to think of a way to stop ham-fisted buffoons accidentally sinking that pickup into the abyss which is the stomach of a semi acoustic guitar. Hmmm..... *puts thinking cap on*

Cheers!

Nutter my old mate, that hollowbody of yours, which I've played enough to know I like. Is a world apart from the Lemon Drop RIP (rot in pieces).
I was considering offering dough for the guitar. However the hollowbody guitars just are not for me.

As for the Lemondrop.
Here is how it all ended.

I'm convinced that guitar must have been a very early model. Recognize that species of wood? It's the lesser spotted MFI. (Further evidence of the guitar being a 2nd or early model.) It was so wrong, it couldn't be right. A world apart from your guitar, Vintage guitars I've recently tried (the Slash is gorge') and what I hear from others about their Vintages.

Back to the setlist and beer. Nice work mate, see ya soon.

Hey Nikininja - thanks for dropping by and showing us your Lemon Chop! 8) Yeaahh I remember now, you had a chance to test drive the VSA at the Blue Badger's hideout. Good stuff!! I'd forgotten that!

Enjoy the sunny day mate -

Nutter

Oh my G... Please don't!

I'm assuming the empty gaps in your post are where Brad dashed in to censor family-unfriendly content at short notice? Phew! Good work, Brad. 8)

I'm up for it! It's very beach-like weather right now in our corner of the universe, isn't it? :D

Cheers - C

EMPTY GAPS???¿?? Are you serious? Please no! They turn up fine on my phone and computer.… weird.
If disabled the disabling might break my heart. I spent half the night yesterday shopping that Proxxon. "Ohhh, Proxy Lady!" as Jimi sang.

Anyhow. Whiling away time on beaches is fine by me. Even whaling away thyme on beaches. Or barrrrrrbequeing if necessary. Gee I'm tired. I should have a nap.

Cheers -

Nutter

It never hurts to get as much practice as possible with the macro function of your camera.

Aye, it's a great little tool. Sadly no RPM control, but nimble and light instead.

You can check it out next time we rock out on the beach if ya want.

Cheeeers

Cool!

I'm thinking we could make a "Dremel Rotisserie" for the BBQ!
