We finally opened our "Come Back Tour 2012" after having praticed a couple of months with some guys I played with over 15 years ago.

The club was nearly packed and people stayed the whole night. We had alot of compliments on our "show". We do have alot of fun onstage and we involve the crowd as much as possible.

The club owner immediately booked us for two more weekends (most clubs around here usually book 2 months ahead) and seemed to be pleased. He said that was the best crowd he's had in a long time. Waitresses were very happy with the tips they received.

We made our share of mistakes, but covered well enough that only we or someone who knows music would notice. All the guys in the band seemed satisfied with the night. Especially when considering that was our first night on stage together in over 15 years.

So I guess we could call our opening debut a success. It was really good playing with those guys again and hopefully our upcoming gigs will be just as much fun. :D

Very cool... 8) 8) 8)

It's always cool when a band gets back together and it works.

Did you get any pics/video of the show?

Thanks guys. It is nice when it all comes together.

There wasn't any hard feelings when the band broke up years ago. We had been together for about 8 years and we stayed extremely busy. We were just a local band covering eastern OK and occasionally including the OKC and Tulsa areas.
We played all but a handfull of weekends each year. Alot of 3 nighters, but most were 2. A few times we played 2 locations in 1 day and some 5 night week gigs. During the week we were in the studio recording or helping others record. Sometimes providing back up vocals and instruments as well. During all that we held regular jobs.
We just sort of burnt out. Why it took so long to get back together? I don't know. But we're having fun now.

I know some people took pictures. Flashes were going off about all night. I'm pretty sure that our sound man or his wife took some, but I haven't seen them yet.

Here are a couple that were taken while we were setting up.

Pictured left to right is our lead guitar player, our front man and our drummer. Our lead guitar player had put a strip of silver tape on our front man's butt. It stayed on for about an hour before he noticed!

This is a pic after we had things set. The stage was small, but there was more room than the picture shows.

Here's a post I found on the club's facebook page yesterday morning.

We didn't do any recording or video taping the other night, but below are a few clips I posted a couple of weeks ago, just in case you missed that thread.

The first three are from "back in the day". The last one, Pretty Woman, was recorded live at a practice in Feb. this year. This was our first time going over the song since we had got back together. We went over it about 3 times then recorded. Our drummer sings the song and was't too confident in his vocals.

These are all I have at this time. All the old stuff I have is on cassette tapes (man that makes me feel old). One of the guys gave me a CD with 3 of our old songs, otherwise I wouldn't be able to share those. If I remember right, they're from a 3 song demo that we made.
Everyone doing the vocals on these are part of the band today. Missing from the old band is a keyboard player (doesn't play live gigs anymore - health reasons) and a lead/steel guitar player who has moved away. Sure wish those two could join back with us.

Hopefully we'll record some by the end of next month. If so I'll share some of those.

Queen Of Memphis (recorded in studio ‘92 or ‘93 - lead vocals by our lead guitar player)

Alibi’s (recorded in studio ‘92 or ‘93 - I do the lead vocals on this one)

Honky Tonk Attitude (recorded in studio ‘92 or ‘93 - our front man has the lead vocals on this one)

Pretty Woman (recorded live at band practice 2/2012 - our drummer sings lead on this one)

outside of the music and artistic outlet, this picture illustrates what makes being in a band so much fun--the camaraderie and brotherhood of a bunch of guys ranking on each other.

You're right about ranking each other. I often tell people that everyone is serious at practice, trying our best on each song. But in-between songs, it's every man for himself!

I've got a few pics from Saturday nite.
No wonder the cassette tapes make me feel old. I am old!!!

I'm going to have to pick up some new clothes for the stage. I look like the grandpa that I am.

The other guys should have told it was "Wear Black Nite".

Thought I should mention that Pretty Woman wasn't the only song we recorded at practice that evening, but it's the only song on the CD that is a full version. The others are only the first 1½ minutes. We were seeing if we could come up with a demo and one of the guys thought it was best to just put partial songs on it. I don't remember what his reasoning was, but that's what we ended up with.
