Buxom:

Sorry to hear that your mom had such a tough experience with Humira, but I am glad to hear she's doing better now.

As for myself, Humira seemed like a near miracle drug, but it was only the first treatment. My doctor seems conscientious and careful but your story will definitely make me try to be more aware.

As for yourself, if you feel you're starting to show symptoms get them treated early. Early diagnosis can reduce treatment and prevent a lot of the long term effects.

One of the symptoms for things with the cell count was just a constant lack of energy. My mom was constantly sleeping and could never get anything done. She used pretty much all of her sick leave, which was a large amount. Also, you probably know exactly what I'm talking about, but don't you hate it when your scalp flares? It actually feels so strange to me, I can't stand it. I deal with it because I could never get rid of my hair. Too precious to me. (My hair isn't the cause, but it makes it worse.)

Derek

Sent you a private message regarding some medical treatmens that helped a friend. He was already on Methotrexate when he started it. Adalimumab (Humira) cured his RA as well as the Psioriasis in a few weeks, and ended a suffering of about 20+ years.

Just spoke with him, he sends you his best wishes.

My father-in-law, a renown rheumatologist, says there is a new drug similar to Adalimumab, but it's cheaper and seems to help even better. Ask your doctors, they'll know. It's only available in the US right now.

Cheers

David

I don't think his mother would appreciate that.

Sorry to hear about all this guitslinger, my father has arthritis in his hands, very bad, I know what you're going through. I hope things work out ok.
That's a good idea someone came up with about the slide.. be great if you can use one.

Well, Guitslinger had his first treatment today and it certainly seems to work :D

I just came back from his house and he was standing there in the living room, Jimmie Vaughan strat slung over his shoulder, amp cranked and belting out a few Hendrix tunes! He merrily played on with a silly grin on his face like a kid in a candy store while I was trying to catch his dog who was chasing my dog who was chasing his cat! He was none the wiser.

Welcome back man!! Good to see those hands back in action again!!! :D

FenderPerson1 will be waiting a while before he gets anywhere near those guitars now :)

This made my day--after all the turmoil, to hear that he's getting some relief--physically and emotionally--makes everything ok.

Goodonya, Guitslinger... 8)

No problem...at the rate he's progressed in a few hours, he'll be whizzing through Van Halen by the end of the weekend.
