the music scene in toledo lost a great friend with the passing of tom overley.

i had a chance to meet tom a while back when he was playing with the "kirbys" band in toledo. i was drawn to his tele and his great tone-and great playing. we spent a fair amount of time talking between sets

tom was active in the music community, especially in the area of blues. he was a president of the black swamp blues society, and touched a lot of people.

when i first met tom i didn't realize that he had been battling cancer for a while. he didn't say much about it, probably because he had such a great attitude that he thought he could defeat the disease. a true, humble gentleman

phreddybee, a year later and I see this thread. Late again but sorry for your loss. Many musicians lost in 2012 sadly. Here's hoping we fair better in 2013.
