My nephew who I took under my wing when he was barely out of Pampers has recently released what is about solo release number 15 or so.Just about every one of his CDs does really well on the local scene and they can't keep them in stock. This latest CD is getting play on our local CBC station and has been getting gushing reviews. He plays all the instruments on the album except for some drums on a couple of tracks and does all the lead vocals as well as harmonies.I sent one of his earlier CDs to Jian Ghomeshi of the cross Canada CBC morning show and he gave it a very positive review. This young fella is a very gifted guitarist and he wasn't very old when I didn't have to give him any more pointers,he also does a dead on job of Hendrix covers.I''m not saying this because he's my nephew because I never give praise when it isn't earned or deserved but he's recognized locally as being one of the province's best guitarists, and I had nothing to do with that-he earned that distinction on his own.Anyway here's the link to his website: http://www.victorlewis.bandcamp.com/ I'm sure that you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Thanks Danny he's certainly gifted,he took an overwhelming interest in the guitar literally before he could walk or talk. Before he hit his teens he would watch me like a hawk when I did my Hendrix covers. When he was 14 or 15 his band beat out bands with members all in their 20s for a chance to open for one of the islands most popular bands at a Festival of Flight concert at their stadium. They did a few cover songs but closed off their set with Voodoo Child (slight return)Ihad loaned him my '65 Strat and he was on top of the world and blew the doors off the place and amazed the headline act when they saw this 14 year old kid not only nail the song but play behind his head and back as well as with his teeth. You could never believe how proud I was of him that night. His set was the talk of the town the next day and he had become a local hero over night especially after blowing the headline act out of the water.

Sounds like he scored big time with a dad like you. It must be great to grow up with that kind of musical support and influence. Awesome. :D

The guy needs to move to a major urban area where there's a better chance of someone influential hearing his stuff.I'm sending a copy of this CD to Jian Ghomeshi because if he liked his earlier album he'll have him on his show when he hears this one. He's really popular here and whenever he plays the venue fills up at least 2 hours before showtime, his following is that huge. Thanks for the encouraging comments I'll certainly pass them on.

BTW Klowenest: I'm not his father I'm his uncle, his father isn't a musician but he has a huge collection of the best of 60s and 70s music and between listening to his father's albums and watching and listening to me play plus picking up any of my pointers really fast he was a natural for the guitar...and piano..and trombone...and drums....etc. Thanks for the comment anyway.

I will certainly pass on the positive feedback folks, thanks very much. The CD is getting all positive feedback from other sites on the net where I've posted it and people are sharing the link to the website with friends.I'm determined to somehow get him the exposure that he deserves. There are so many hacks out there without a modicum of the talent that he has and they are bringing in big bucks and lucrative recording deals .So if they deserve it he certainly does and then some.
