Just get a USB interface and you're good to go with what you have.

Many of the youtubes are done with webcams.

Good luck!

If you just want to record yourself live, than a decent video camera will work fine.
If you just want a decent live recording and don't need video, Tascam and a few others make nice small, easy to use recorders for about $100 to $150.
If you don't need the video and you want to add overdubs or effects, then you will need a USB or Firewire interface, as Mike mentioned. You will plug your guitar/amp/microphone into the interface then into the laptop. Be aware that recording audio requires a pretty good computer. Latency, or a delay between the time you pluck a note and the time your computer plays it back is a normal problem to have to solve. The driver you use for the interface has a lot to do with that.

I use the UX1 USB interface to get into my laptop loaded with Abelton Live lite. The interface comes with Pod Farm software to emulate effects etc, which are optional and fun to tweak with. http://line6.com/podstudioux1/

Here's a recording I posted here recently that was recorded with it using a Fender American Deluxe, for an idea of the sound.

And something heavier that was recorded with my Charvel (before I got a Fender!)

Cheers
