I test some of their amp, but I'm a poor guitar player , better amp tech, my opinion is they are too bright for my taste.

Really? I find them the exact opposite, almost impossible to get those lovely sparkly cleans out of a Marshall. Of course, that's what makes them so nice for more distorted stuff.

Fender for clean, good old tube Marshall for distorted stuff, perfect combination.

Marshall really never have got their transistor amps down though, some of their non-tube stuff sounds absolutely horrible unless you pile on more gain than is remotely tasteful.

i brought a fender amp for the clean channel, and brought an English Muff'n for the dirty stuff. the gain channel on the amp never gets used. i had a big muff before the english muff'n, but it was too fuzzy for me.

Marshall make some great amps but I've never found any that I've tried to be too bright, if anything the opposite. Turn them up and they're the dogs! Check out Blackstar as well which was set up by a few ex Marshall tech's.

+1 to the Blackstar tip. I have one of their 60W 2x12 combos, the HT Stage 60, and it's the best amp I've ever played through. The stock TAD valves (tubes for my American friends) are reputed to be a bit unreliable, but I've replaced mine with JJs and the amp is now as close to perfect as I've found.

Three channels, each with switchable voicings, and a unique 'ISF' control that allows you to tweak the response of the tone stack anywhere between USA (ie Fender-y sounds) and UK (Marshall, I suppose).

It's a wonderfully responsive amp and bl**dy loud when you need it to be. The only downside is the weight - but they do make separate heads and cabs too. Check 'em out. And no, I'm not a Blackstar employee! Just a happy owner.

It depends on which Marshall--some are great and some are terrible...just like every other large-scale amp manufacturer.

I tend to like Marshall tube amps better than their solid state amps. Their SS amps are a bit thin generally.

I use a Marshall Haze 40w combo. I have no issues with it, the cleans are nice and clean and overdrive channel is good too. My opinion....

I never use my Marshall, because It is super loud in the house 8)

Since you're an underground artist, is your house subterranean?

Not a fan of Marshalls. Just don't like the tone one bit.
